She is a bit of a minx our lillie.. she's very much a house cat.. stays in all the time.. except when she goes out to get pregnant!!
she has about 2 littlers of kittys a year.. but it keeps her happy so why not?
she's more friendly when shes pregnant anyway..

Alsoo.. Lillie is one of FIVE ..kittys in mums house
Now thats a bit mad but we know people who have more
I know how lovely it is to have kittens around there such cute things, but having worked at the cats protection, i cant help but feel sad by her keep having kittys !! Its very hard upon her body to keep producing a few litters a year . Not only that shes at a very high chance of catching FIV Bascially feline AIDS, and feline leukemia! Both which are killers!
At the cats protection we take in ridiculous amounts of unwanted kittens, every single day!! There are thousands!! Alot that come in a strays because irresponsible people either get rid of there cat when they get pregnant or when they have had the kittens, so alot of these kittens are basically feral and if a kitten is feral for more than 8 weeks its almost impossible to tame them! This is all Mostly because people are not sensible enough to get their cats spayed, and just are totally unaware of the facts. If people didnt sell them for £30 quid in the paper many more of these kittens at the cats protection would have homes to go to! There are over 2 MILLION stray cats in the uk, because cats are not spayed or nuetured!!! A female cat will come into season at least every 3-4 weeks if not spayed, meaning they can have endless litters in a year, they can become pregnant when nursing a litter, so if allowed to go out when they already have a a litter of kittens then will most likely become pregnant as they are highly fertile and the cyle starts all over again!! Having Worked at both the cats protection and the R.S.P.C.A, i have seen some very sad things. The cats protection have the policy of not putting a cat down they will by all means try and find them all homes the best they can, but the R.S.P.C.A tend to only keep animals for 6 months before they get put to sleep, its not nice to see 4 litters of healthy kittens put to sleep just for having ring worm, which we all know is completely curable, but as it was coming into "kitten season" there just wasnt the space and we had this over load of kittens busting through the doors that there just was no choice, they needed to space and they didnt want to risk passing infection onto the other litters of kittens coming in!!
I am sorry i didnt mean to bust your thread with my opinions, i just find it sad, sorry. Maybe i am a tad hormonal too! Sorry if i take things off subject dont mean to, i just hope maybe i can get through to you not to let her have anymore after this litter and you get her spayed maybe? This is just something very close to my heart and having seen such sad things, and i do know and realise how nice it is to have kittens, it really is lovely, but for your cats health as well, its really not good for her....! Please dont take offense to anything i have said
I think that the kitty may have her babies first . I wish both you and the kitty healthy births and babies xxx
Having worked myself for cat charities I completely appreciate your concern
All of my other cats are spayed/neutered and I totally agree with what you say, both in terms of Lillie's health and the cat population in general (most of mine are rescues), but unfortunately Lillie suffers from a medical condition which means that, unless she is pregnant she is permanently in season (including while she is nursing the LOs). The knock on effect of this is that my vet will not spay her as the blood flow to her reproductive organs is very high and therefore the risk that she will bleed to death on the operating table is correspondingly high
I COULD have her spayed during pregnancy of course, but when it comes to it I just can't bring myself to kill the kitties
Oo i am sorry, i didnt know the facts...
Didnt mean to preach lol i hope that she will be just fine
I know what you mean by killing the kitties when shes pregnant, cats protection tend to do that alot (obviously if the cat is not too far gone!!) just to try keep numbers down and it is very sad when it happens, not sure i could do that to my cat either..
