Tax credits review letter

I got this letter saturday giving me while today to reply .. anyway long story cut short I have lost the number spent all day trying normal number got thru just to be told my claimed as ceased because they havent had my renewel which i explained i had sent and i explained abiout the letter he said yeah i have the number gave me it ...I have rang and rang ...the message is hello I am probably with another customer or you have rang out of office hours please ring back later dont leave a message ..after ringing 50 plus times i have left a message worried about how I cant get through and my number but arghh this is stressing me out ...I cant live without my tax credits

Facts

Left husband april 2011 ...he stayed in our old house until March 2012 ..when he became homeless and was flitting between mates , we started getting on better so he move back in 16th JULY rang them everyday for a wk ...23rd july i write to them with all info asking for them to contact me ..I havent heard anything till i got this letter dated 4th august but didnt arrive till 11th giving me till 14th or they would stop my money ...

yet told today my money as been stopped and given a wrong number ...anybody know the time frame for this to get sorted ?
