Hi

Baby is on size 1 teeth on the bottles when do you know you need to change up a size??

She gulps down the milk at times at other times she is choking on a small amount which I think is a little reflux. So I am not sure if moving up a size is a good idea....

:haha: teeth!! that made me lol :flower:

Erm, I moved my LO onto size 2 teats just before three months old, but she wasnt showing any obvious signs of 'needing' them, iykwim?! But saying that, she probably would have been more than happy to move up to them sooner! Thinking of putting her on the vari-flow teats next though, but worried she may choke. lol

EDIT: My OH just noticed that your LO was born on his birthday and congratulated you!! bless him :dohh:

Hehe my one handed typing on iPhone and predictive text :)

Thanks for your insight :) I am going to hold off then I should just trust my instints more but with so little sleep it's good to get a sanity check :)

You could always try the next size up.you will know if she is ready for them yet or not coz she either wont be able to drink the milk down quick enough and it will all come out her mouth,or she will drink it down so fast she will bring it all back up again.i know neither is ideal, but at least you will know!!just make sure you have a size 1 teat on stand-by.lol
And I know what you mean about predictive text.i was talking about putting KIDS in the steriliser in another thread (should have been lids) :haha:

hi hun!

I tried Leah on size 2 teats at about 8 weeks old (on the advice of my HV) and it didn't agree with her at all - she took the milk far too fast and couldnt take a break as the flow was too fast for her to have a pause if she needed one and flooded her mouth so ended up being sick a lot. I have noticed her getting frustrated lately and really sucking hard to get the milk out over the last few days so will be giving the size 2 teats another go today and seeing how we get on. They do recommend about 3 months to move up as the flow is too fast for smaller babies xxx

We tried them 2 days ago and switched all of her bottles over to them yesterday. She is 9+4, so a little bit earlier than they suggest, but she is quite a big baby (if that makes any difference?!). We have had no problems, she obviously feeds quicker, but is not being sick and I think she is also a bit easier to wind.

Thanks guys based on what you said I don't think she's ready but now I know what to look for ;)
