I want my husband with me every step of the way. It's my own dad that I don't want there.

Ah, sorry for the misunderstanding. That one to me seems a no-brainer. The notion of the woman's dad being present during labour is a whole new concept to me. Here in the UK I think most hospitals limit you to two birthing partners, so if your hubby and mum are there than that would be that, I think.
