Tests before IUI

Hi there,

Well Im CD 11 at the moment , last round of clomid and have scan and HCG shot on Wednesday, after this I will be seeing the consultant to discuss the possibility of IUI.

I jast wondered if the clinic which is NHS will do more tests? Already had bloods done, HSG, and clamidia. Have not have lap op which I have asked for and just wondered if any of you lovely ladies could advise that may know about this?

Have asked my GP for a referal to a different consultant or gyne as I want a second opinion rather than jumping into this. I mean of course I dont want an operation for the sake of it and consultant has said that it's not necessary but just want to rule verything else out, if you know what I mean?

Well I'm a little confused because normally in our hosp you have the lap and dye first. I did and then was prescribed Clomid. My oh and I had all the test done before Clomid as it should only be used as a last resort. If you have unexplained infertility then they should do all the investigations to help you hun xxx

Hi logiebear, thanks for confirming what I believe too! My consultant says no and so I have to get second opinion now!

no, clomid is not used as a last resort. i have been given it as i have irregular cycles which means im probably not ovulating. i have only had internal scans done x
