Most people start counting on the first day of their last menstrual period because that is usually how the dr counts. I know, it doesn't seem logical, but that is why a full-term pregnancy is 40 weeks--I think it builds in that 2 week before you actually conceived period. My LMP started on 9/5 so that makes me 5w1d today. Also, most people don't know the exact day in which they conceived. Congrats and all the best!!
Thank you for that info! I was aware that doctors use the LMP, but wasn't sure if folks on boards like this would use that "standard" for dating or not. I guess I am slightly unusual in that I know the date of conception!
Also, I wasn't sure exactly how you counted the weeks....i.e., if you say "5 weeks" at the start of your fifth week, or at the end - but your comment about when your LMP was clarified that for me - oddly enough, my LMP started around the same time as yours, so we're almost exactly the same time-frame along, it seems.
Thanks again and all the best to you as well!
