I just went to about 6 shops trying to get Liam's baby milk. And all the shops either didn't have stage 2 (C&G) or had it and wouldn't take my healthy start vouchers, even the chemist wouldn't take them.
I would have just paid for it, but I don't have enough money until Monday and he needs it today.
That was one very long walk and my legs were aching before I even left (too much exercising yesterday.)

So any of you girlies wondering whether to BF or FF...BF really does have its benefits!

Oh my how are you going to feed him?!

Another thing to add to my breastfeeing-for list :haha:

Thats terrible they refused you? what on earth were they playing at!!!

BF does have unexpected benefits though!
The one I didnt think about was no need to sterilise bottles, etc!!!

I expressed and mixed the milk in with formula though :) Best of both worlds

i dont really have a choice on weather to bf or ff.
i'm choosing to raise baby vegan, and i think there is only one vegan forumla that isn't that easy to get hold off.
so really hoping i dont have problems with breastfeeding! lol

another pro of bf :)
hope you got the milk in the end!
i love bf'ing and cant wait to do it again with baby no.2! xx

I got some in the end but I was out for like an hour.

veganmum2be..I've never seen any vegan friendly baby milks. I'm assuming it would have all the same nutrients as any other formula milk though? I'm gonna look it up because I'm interested now (not that me or baby baby are vegans or will be- unless it's something he chooses when he's older- but I didn't know they actually made any.)

ETA: SMA and c&g both do soy milk formulas. They're more expensive though. Boots sell them so they shouldn't be too hard to get. But hopefully the BF will go well and you won't need formula.

awhh thanks for finding that out :D i've never looked into it much as i presumed i would breastfeed, but it worries me when i hear stories of women really struggling with it, and i'm worried i might not be able to.
i'm going to actualy have a look in my local boots see if they stock them out of curiosity xxx

If they don't stock them you can order them online and have them delivered to the shop for you to collect.

you lose baby weight quicker if you BF too ^_^ plus there are countless benefits for both you and LO.

I never really gave breastfeeding a second thought.. I mean its there, why not use it?

yeah i am vegan have been sinse i was 14, i'm 20 this year.
yeah pizza can be vegan :) either just without cheese and no milk/butter used, or with vegan 'cheese' on top.
sorry i do tend to use the normal words for things i eat
like, ''i had a burger'' for example, but it wasn't meat it was a meat substitute...so looks like the real thing even tastes similar, but doesn't have any animal products.

hope that stops the confusion lol! :D

Lol thanks :flower:

Thats really interesting, I've always wondered what vegans eat!!

Sorry to go OT, And woop another pro to breastfeeding!

aww stupid people turning you down!

BFing is easily in the top 5 of my favourite things of mummyhood...im gonna be gutted when we stop :(
Im dreading it xxx

I FF but another big pro to BF is breast milk is free
I spend over 100 dollars a month on formula!

I don't eat meat but I do the same thing about using normal words.

Just a quick question,I'd heard you weren't meant to use soy formula without talking to a doctor?

I'm vegetarian and we used to use HIPP organic milk because its veggie but they've changed it recently to not being veggie anymore :dohh: x

i've not heard that one.
alot of doctors are all focused on dairy though.

i do have a girl i talk to online a bit, and she is vegan, she started feeding soya formula from birth.
i've never really asked her about it, but will do next time i speak.

with it just being sold on shelves i wouldn't have thought it was to be fed only with a doctors go ahead first.
