I don't think they are really! I've heard of a few people having a little ceremony/giving a gift etc to mark the end of breastfeeding. Alice's friend had a proper party a few weeks before and it captured her interest, so when I suggested she stopped she agreed and was keen to plan her 'party' - just me, her, Arthur and my parents. I had a good amount of that cake, it was lovely!

Oh, and my mum baked two loaves of bread in the shape of... well, you can guess
