yeah i was thinking when oliver got a bit bigger i will hand him them as a treat to chew on. as you said he will throw it away when he doesnt want it.
Im confused how to do it tho, because my doctor said to give him the food like 1 hour to 1.5 hours before his milk. As he wont take it before or after as before he will fuss because he is in his "milk postion"

and afterwards he normally wants to start playing again straight away.
i struggled with that, cos he would eat his rice or veggies etc then would refuse his bottle, in the end i gave up, he now does
7am - Milk 6oz
10.30 - porridge
1.30 - lunch
3pm - Milk 6oz
5.30pm - Dinner
6.30-7 bedtime bottle 6oz
so he hardly has any milk
i used to make a bottle with every dinner and i was wasting sooo much!
He will let ya know how he wants it, just feed him his purees and give him his milk on demand xx
Can I ask how much milk Finn used to take before you started weaning? I posted in the weaning sction a few days ago cos Finn has dropped a bottle since we started, and I wondered if it was ok. He used to have 6 x 7oz a day and now hes taking 5 x 7oz a day plus porridge in morning and puree for dinner. They said in the weaning section that they shouldnt be dropping any milk before 6 months, but surely if you're giving them other foods, they will be less hungry for the milk?
Finns feeding kinda goes like this..
7am - 7oz milk
8.30 - porridge
10 - 7 oz milk
1 - 7oz milk
4 - 7oz milk
5 - veg purees
6.30 - bedtime bottle 7oz
does this sound ok??

Where hes going 3 hours between feeds now, he was only going 2.5 hours before, meaning one of his feeds has been dropped
