Hello all
So a little intro on me. I'm a 35 yr old mum of one beautiful toddler, 2.5 years, conceived via IUI (at Bridge centre, London) first time after TTC for 2 years with unexplained infertility. Now want to have baby number two. We have been trying naturally since Jan 2015 with no luck. Went back to Bridge clinic for IUI again in Aug. Sadly it didn't work. Hubby and I decided to take a break as work was very stressful for me then.
We went to a different clinic in Jan 2016 and they carried out a sperm DNA fragmentation test. Turns out dh sperm has 34% DNA fragmentation. They recommended ivf. But with our history of IUI success they agreed we could try IUI again as less invasive and cheaper.
This week we wanted to start our IUI cycle, but my day 3 baseline scan showed my lining was still thick (6.8mm). Went back day 4 for another baseline scan and lining thicker and clotting (9mm). They said can't do IUI and suggested a saline ultrasound to take a better look at what's going on with lining. I had this saline scan last summer at another clinic and was confused why I needed it. No idea what they were checking. Anybody had this issue?
I finally spoke to my doc and she said hysterescopy best as this is more accurate and they can scrape lining. Has anybody had any experience with hysterescopy and if so what did they do? If they scrape the lining to "fix the issue", won't the problem come back next cycle? This costs £2300! So I want to understand other people's experiences first.
Any help greatly appreciated.
