I posted about Seth eating constantly a few days ago and its not got any better. Its almost constant. I decided not to give him a formula feed a day and just to go on as we were hoping it would build up my supply.

Anyway, we were out today and he had a bottle and missed about 3 feeds and my boobs didn't fill up at all. They used to get really swollen and sore when he even missed one so I think this might be nearly the end of the line :(

Im really really upset about it, I feel like Ive completely failed. 4 months is nothing really when we've had no problems whatsoever this far! I feel like Ive done something wrong but I dont know what?

Dont really think theres any advice, just wanted to let off some steam and didn't think anyone else would understand :(

Linzi, you have probably just reached and equalibrium point with feeding, so you won't get that full feeling. I often feel like I am empty, but when Bren latches on, I can hear him gulping away.

He may also be having a growth spurt, so that could explain the extra eating. Bren did the same thing to me a week or so ago.

I agree. Apart from the mornings when Sam's been asleep all night mine never feel full any more, and they've been like that for months now :hugs: x

My boobs never feel full anymore, they actually feel like there is no milk in there at all. Connor has gained lots of weight though, so I know he is getting lots of good milk.

Thanks thats really reassuring. I thought it might be a growth spurt too but this has been going on for a couple of weeks now :(

aww hun he sounds just like Ffion!

we can get through this together (((hugs)))

I started to think one of Sam's growth spurts was never going to end...thought it would be no more than a week but I seemed to be feeding him constantly for a lot longer than that. It did get better though.

:hugs: to you and Tezzy x

I thought this too... as my boobs never get sore and uncomfortable and hard anymore!! but milk is still there!!

good luck :hugs:

Hi Linzi

Just wanted to stay - stick with it! Like the other girls my boobs don't feel like they are going to burst either. I think your LO may be having a growth spurt - Dylan has just had one. It seemed to last for ages and I also considered giving up but now it's easier than its ever been.

Keep going - you are doing a fab job!

You're doing great! That 3-4 month growth spurt is tough (as is the 6 month one and the 9 month nursing strike etc, etc. :))

Hang in there if you feel its right for you guys!

I'm going through the same thing. For the last 2 weeks all she has wanted to do is eat. Yesterday I fed her at 4:00 then left her with the nanny and went grocery shopping, I came back and she said Bella was still hungry after I left, so she gave her a bottle (of bm) and she drank all 4 oz! I'm REALLY trying to make it to 6 months of exclusive bf, but it's getting very hard. Hopefully, this too shall pass!

We're going out tomorrow night for my birthday and Im really dreading it. I can just tell MIL is going to ring because he wont be able to settle. And Im meant to be going out with work on fri and leaving him with Matt for the first time and Im really worried about how he'll manage him when he's like this.

Just feels like it's never going to end!

Im still going but its not easy!

Thanks for the support :hugs: Its hard to ask anyone else because I dont know anyone whos done this before

9 month nursing strike? :dohh:

Hey hun, if he's missing feeds on the breast then you could try expressing the missed feeds just to make sure your supply keeps up?

9 month nursing strike? :dohh:

I always heard babies typically have a strike around 9 mo, but I've not been able to find any useful data that links nursing strikes to age. most often its associated with a reaction to something different that they don't like.

Still really really hard :( We managed to go out last night for my birthday but he took 2 8oz formula bottles in the 3 hours we were out and he didn't bring any of it back up apparently.

He's 16 weeks tomorrow so Im going to see the HV about weaning him. He's teething too which is making it even more difficult because he's cranky and also his sleeping has gone all wrong :(

Im just completely worn out and stressed lol! But we had a lovely evening last night so thats made me feel a bit better.
