THIS is exactly why you should never use an OPK for an HPT

OK, so I didn't really get my hopes up, I've read too much of this site to get all excited over something like this. I swore I would never do this again, but being bored at home I had to pee on something! Anyway, I thought this would be interesting to some of you...I am only 8dpo (I know, I know, it's waaaaaay too early) the top stick is an OPK, almost positive, the bottom is an HPT, clearly a :bfn:.

Wow, how odd, that looks positive.
Mind you my opk's went darker wayyyy before my cheapy hpt's picked up anything.
Good luck retesting, I got a faint line on a FRER at 9dpo, so it's early but not too early :) xx

I'm not getting my hopes up, I have been fooled before....I took another pic which is a little clearer, and inverted it. Really weird, I KNEW I should have just left that stick alone!

I agree my OPK came up very positive on the day I tested, 11dpo, and I got a barely there line on the HPT ic test so actually you really could be in with a chance. Good luck but nice experiment anyway even if it isn't you month. xxx

God you are gong to hate me for saying this are you sure there isn't a really faint faint line on your HTP or an evap? Did they touch in the same wee? This can cause a false positive by the way. xxx

I had something similar recently... Positive OPK on CD24, and then again 3 more positive OPKs on CD29! Negative HPT the very same day.

I hope this could be it for you though... :hugs:

Oh no...no way! You're not going to get my mind going in circles! :muaha:

Anyway, no, different wee, 5 minutes apart...it's not FMU but it's very soon after that. The second pic invert is probably an evap, the pic was taken a few minutes after the read by time, and when I looked there was definitely a grey evap there. I hope I am in with a chance, I'll keep you all updated!

Oh now that you mention it, I can see it too! (I never enlarged the images before - took your word for it being negative ;)) But there is a line there be it evap or bfp...

Best of luck to you! I hope this is your month! :happydance: xx

Not saying there always right but when i was preg before a opk showed up postive then few days later i got a bfp. good luck hun

hey hun when that photo popped up a line flashed at me on the hpt but when i looked at it properlu wasnt able to see it but if you stare away from it but still look at it iykwim i can definately see something on there.

did both tests dry up before you put them together to take the photo. if they were still wet then the line may of showed up due to that.

looking good for you thoutgh hunni and dont want to get your hopes up but my tests (on internet cheapies and other strip tests) were blink and you'll miss it kinda lines.

it shows even better on the inverted pic! x

I thought I could see a very faint line on HPT too...

I know I got second lines on OPK but nothing on cheapie HPT...I did a FRER at 9DPO and got a faint but there line cheapie one nowt until well after 15DPO.

I think its looking good for you!

Goog Luck!

Emma.xx

I def see a faint line on the hpt. Crossing my fingers and toes for you!!!

Using OPKs and HPTs is purely a fun factor and never should be used in replace of ;) I did the OPK thing after I knew I had a + on a HPT

Women can ovulate later than they thought in cycle even twice in one cycle which many forget lol

It is like someone said 'possible' that an opk that shows positive where pregnancy is the result before an actual HPT but not something to go on in fact should be ignored. I'd retest on 10dpo and 12dpo

Have you ever tested with a OPK this late in one cycle before?

I did use an OPK I think the month before last when I was about 10dpo, and while I did have a slightly darker line than normal, it was not anywhere near positive. This one looks darn near if it isn't positive, but then again, when I O I normally have 3 days of positives, the test in the middle being super dark, so maybe this isn't really a positive for me?

Also, any line on the HPT has to be an evap...the pic was taken a few minutes after the read-by time, and when 15 minutes went by I saw the evap for sure.

I think I'll test again at 10dpo, I'm out of sticks so I have to go buy a store brand! Good thing though, probably! Thanks for all your good luck wishes, right back at all of you!
:dust:

Its still early hun. When i was messing round with OPK & HPT the OPK was more darker than the pos HPT. I wasent due on my period for a few days.
Im guessing that its picking something up but its too early for the HPT.
Good luck!!
X

8DPO?! Please wait a bit longer

ooorrr you could buy more internet cheapies and pee on more sticks for us to look at!!! *is addicted* i can't wait to find out if you are!

I have a similar scenario ladies.......I've been obsessing about this!!! Can OPK's predict pregnancy in the early stages before HPTs can detect HCG?????!!!!

I am only 5dpo and have been experiencing alot of 2ww symptoms already- I didn't even know they were symptoms but abnormal for my body.

1dpo: flutters, tingly feelings in my lower belly, left sided pain (x1) DIFFERENT THAN GAS
2dpo: same (x2)
3dpo: WICKED bloating and wind
4dpo: WICKED MASSIVE gut bloating and wind
5dpo: crampy lower belly bloating, better than the WICKED bloating

All days I've been excessively thirsty (didn't even know it was a symptom until i looked it up the other day), excessively tired at 7pm (like falling asleep), No acute increase in smell, no boob aches, Oh........waking temp was up by 1 full degree this morn to 98.55 F!

OK, so I have been testing with 2 brands of OPK's (am and pm tests) since CD7 and am now into CD24. I had a mild LH rise on CD 16 (confirmed by only 1 brand of test- less sensitive) but then it quickly went down by the evening.

I DEFINITELY had + OPKs (both brands) CD19 in the morn and throughout the day--> So, I O'd on CD19!
DH and I BD'd 2x's daily for from CD16-CD20 (it actually was alot of fun!!!)

So here is the exciting part:

My OPK's (the more sensitive brand) are MAJOR +++ immediately when I wee on them 2x's daily since!

I feel noticeably different.........what do you all think? When i get home tonight, i'll take a pic and post it to this site!

Pls give me your opinions!
