this upset me a bit

My partners nephew had autism and he knew i was expectin my last baby, and also knows im expecting this one.
We took him to he fair on friday night with my partner and my partners sister, and he doesnt completly understand
He said something that upset me a bit. He said if i stood on your tummy would this baby die to. I felt really upset, and didnt wanna say this to his mum or tell him off as he doesnt understand.But it really upset me and pulled at my heart strings

Aw hun, i think this is one of those things you have to just try and not to take it too literally. Like you said - he doesn't understand. All that said - i too would be so upset.

No one can blame you for being upset. It's just one of those things where it's not really anyone's fault but feelings still get hurt.

ah hun, i not surprized you were upset, i worked for an elderly lady a few yrs ago who believed she was a witch, when i told her i was expecting she said she was going to cast a spell on me so that i lost babe, when i asked her y she would do something so cruel she said if i had a baby that id hav to stop looking after her, to say the least i walked away from the job that day n cried my eyes out, i kno your circumstances are different but unfortunatly people of all ages say things either without thinking or realizing the concequences, try not to take it to heart hun, im sure all will be fine, sending you lots of love n hugs xxx

omg that is horrible! i cant help but believe in things like that so if someone said that to me i would have been a complete mess!

i still go n see the old lady even though she's in a home. i was very unfortunate to actually lose that baby, that was my 2nd m/c, i hav since had 2 more,but im now on my 5th pregnancy nearly 7 wks? n all going well.. donna xxx

oh hun, that would have really upset me too its just really important to remember that he really didnt know what he was saying, and had no idea of the impact of his words. Hell, kids say that kind of thing a lot, even when they dont have autism.

Thanks feeling a lot better now. Seen him a few times since, and he seems really excited about the baby
