Those with a toddler aged 12-18 months & have 1 nap a day

This is our LOs weekday routine at nearly 18 months old. Weekends usually differ slightly as we are generally out for the day.

06:45 - Wake, Wash, teeth, dress
07:00ish - 180ml bottle
Then playtime until breakfast - usually this one includes a lot of learning play, reading, songs, colouring and alphabet etc.
09:00 - Breakfast
If he is tired then he will nap after breakfast, if not he waits until after lunch.
If he doesn't nap now then just more play or perhaps go out for a while.
Between 12 and 1pm - Lunch
After lunch - possible nap if didn't nap earlier.
Or play outside/or go out
Between 5pm and 6pm - Dinner
After dinner - In the Night garden/playtime
6:45pm - Bath, teeth and ready for bed
7:30 - 210ml bottle and usually falls asleep around 8pm

He does have snacks throughout the day, but not at set times. We are not strict with his nap times, if he isn't tired after breakfast, then we just wait until the afternoon.

He does drawing, reading, playing in his playhouse, slide, alphabet, songs, football, mega blocks, some tv (but only a couple of particular programs that he likes)

This is ours (generally) -

7.30 - 8 am - Wakening.
8.30 - Breakfast
9.15 - 10 - Summer generally amuses herself while I tidy, awaken myself.
10am - We usually head out for an hour or so. Either to the park etc. This morning it was ASDA lol.
11 - 11.30 - We played together, both indoors and in the garden. Read a book together.
11.30 - Naptime.

2pm (roughly) - Summer will wake, have some late lunch.

Between half 2 and five we'll do whatever. Either go to the park , stay in etc.
5pm- I'll start tea and do another tidy.
5.30 - Tea time
6.15 - Bath time
7pm - Bedtime with an 8 oz bottle
Typically, she wakes about half 11 for another bottle. If she doesn't, she wakes at half five for one!

Then up at half 7, 8.

Indoors, we read books, draw and colour, play with her megabloks, dollies, tidy up etc xx

For all you ladies who give your LO their dinner somewhere between 5 and 6ish and then a bottle just before you put them down for bed, do you find they're ready for their bottle, and does it settle them better for sleep? We are really struggling at the moment - Sophie usually has her dinner around 5ish, then plays for a bit, then it's the CBeebies bedtime hour, bath and bed and we do a dreamfeed around 9 but just lately she's either refused to go to sleep in the first place, or she's gone to sleep around 7.30 but woken up an hour or 2 later and been up till midnight! Even her bottle hasn't been settling her. I've been wondering about trying to give her a bottle when she goes to bed but I'm worried in case that messes things up even further! I wish we could get into a decent nap routine through the day as well - she refuses to nap in her cot and usually only has about 30 mins all day! x

Hi, We give our LO dinner somewhere between 5 and 6 and then we have play, tv, bath, teeth and pyjamas between 6 and 7.30 with a bottle at 7.30. It does usually settle him down to sleep. He takes quite a long time to drink it sometimes, but is usually asleep or tired and ready to go to sleep by 8pm. Sometimes he won't drink all of the bottle, but most times he does.

If for some reason he has had a late nap (napped after 4pm) then it doesn't work like this - i tend to let him play a bit longer before bath/bed because i know he won't be ready to go to sleep at the usual time. That only happens if we've been out somewhere and travelled home in the afternoon in the car and he's decided to go for a snooze. :flower:

It's so difficult getting the right balance of naps at the right time etc! I'm just about at my wits' end just now, with the non-napping and non-sleeping!! I think I might try the bottle at bedtime thing. I guess the worst that could happen is that she'd need another one later on - but that would be nothing new anyway! x

I give my LO a bottle before he goes to bed and will continue to let him have milk before bed for as long as he wants. I personally think its a nice thing to get into. He has about 6oz toddler milk in a bottle just before bed and he has dinner about half 4, and supper at 6 and then bottle just before 7 & he drinks it. I think it helps ease him into sleep xx

My LO has only ever had one nap. He started napping at 9 months after a very colicky and difficult start LOL!
He is almost 21 months now, but his routine has been the same since he was under a year. All times are approximate - give or take 1/2h or so.

7:30-8:00 - Wake up.
8:30 - Eat breakfast, get ready to go out
9:00 - Go out and play - outdoor play groups, pool, park, walks, exploring, etc. I bring snacks in case he gets hungry.
12:00 - Come inside, wash hands and cling to my leg while I make lunch :haha:
12:30 - Eat lunch and watch Dinosaur Train (this is the only thing we watch)
1:00 - Quiet play with me
1:30 - Nap
3:30 - 4:00 - Wake up
4:00 - 4:30 - Has a snack
4:30 - 6:30 - Play outside, or OH and I bike somewhere when he gets home, or errands.
7:00 - 7:30 - Eat dinner together and books, colouring, etc
8:30 - 9:00 - Bed!

Now that it is summer it's much easier to entertain my LO. He just wants to be outside at all times! He especially loves sitting in the front seat of the car and pretending to drive. He will entertain himself in the car for an hour! :haha: Or pulling his wagon around the block, using his toy mower, pushing his stroller, etc. He likes to pull the wagon around and collect sticks and rocks too. And anything with sand he loves.
Inside we usually play with lego or megablocks and anything involving chasing/running, or climbing stairs. x

hmmm...

Kayleigh naps either around 10-10:30am until 12-12:30pm or from around 12-12:30pm until 2:2:30pm. We go to the park a lot, or the splash pad, shopping etc.. and on days we are home (like today) all we did was play! We play dollies, wrestle, color, chase each other lol.. play outside on the swing or in her playhouse. Lots of things to do!

7am wake and have a drink of cows milk
7:15am - in the jumperoo while i clean
8am - playtime with mummy - consisting of playing with a large blue ball and hide and seek.
10am - wake daddy and have a snack
10:15am - playtime with daddy
noon - lunch
12:30pm/1pm - nap time
2:30/3pm - wake and snack
3:15pm - independant play
4:30pm - play time with daddy
6pm - dinner
7pm - bath with mummy
7:30pm - bottle of toddler milk & mummy cuddles
