thoughts on Ivy pretty please name choosing woes

Ivy is a fantastic name!

And yes, my MIL has been a total pain in my ass. She either doesn't like the first name, or doesn't like the middle name. DH and I have decided that we will no longer be sharing our names with family until after she is born.

I know, aren't they huge pains in the ass. We told MIL that we are naming it Robert if it's a boy and she's like Robby will be the nn, and we are like no, Bobby is the nn, and she sort of made a face. :growlmad: She's so annoying!!

Thanks for all your support guys. Im sticking to my guns . I also remember people not liking DD's name but now they do so .hey ho! :D X

I think Ivy is beautiful and I think you should follow your heart or you could regret.i don't tell anyone my name choices to avoid being put off xx

I just wanted to bump this back up because iv seen some posts where people were facing negativity with there choice. I did in fact stick with Ivy and I am so delighted I did I honestly love love love her name so sticking to the gut instinct worked. Overthinking not good

What's wrong with the name Ivy? Actually, don't answer that. If your friends and family members are anything like mine, they can probably find a plethora of reasons why they don't like any given name. I think that Ivy is a beautiful name. It may be becoming more popular than it had been in the past, but it is still not an overly popular name. I think that you should choose the name that you and your SO like the most and try to forget what everyone else has to say.

I love ivy,
I wanted to call our little girl Bunny genuinely I love that name!!!!

People need to feck off its not there children, your telling them not asking for there approval. But ivy I love!!!! It's so organic I love it.
