Hi Ladies

I had my LO 2 days ago and breastfeeding is going well so far (well I have one slightly sore nipple which I am working on with my midwife)

I will ask my midwife tomorrow but also ask here....my midwife said not to let LO go more than 4 hours between feeds and to wake he if she sleeps longer. My question is, should this be 4 hours since she started her last feed or finished it. LO had a huge long feed at 2.30 finishing at about 3pm. She fell right to sleep and I am just wondering when to wake her (its now 6pm and she is still sleeping).

Its all very new to me (I failed miserably BF DD1 so really looking to succeed this time)

Thanks in advance

C

I was always told and read that you should count from when the feed started. So if feed started at 2.30, the next feed should start no later than 6.30 to not go over the 4 hours.
