Ok this has been happening to me for 3-4 weeks now (I'm 23 weeks today). I go to the bathroom, urinate, wipe, then stand up and while I'm washing my hands I get a leaking of discharge. I didn't think it was a big deal because it doesn't smell and I know discharge is normal, so I just started wearing pantiliners sometimes. Today I had way more than normal come out, to the point I thought I either peed more or my water could be breaking. I was wiping as the last part came out and it was yellow. I didn't feel like I was peeing though, it was coming from my vagina not my urethra, as far as I can tell.

It stopped and I'm not having contractions or anything so it's not early labor, but I wanted to see if this same thing happens to anyone else.

My water broke at 24 weeks with no contractions, no warning, no pain. I got out of bed and thought I had peed a little. Went to the bathroom a while later and it happened again just like you where I got up and thought that it was discharge. An hour later it happened again and by the time I got to the hospital I had very little amniotic fluid left. I would call and see if they want you to come in. They can do a quick test to see if it is normal discharge or amniotic fluid.

What is the consistency?
I would say increased vaginal discharge is normal during pregnancy but it's not watery, more like creamy white-yellow

It sounds like you may have an infection, I would contact your mw or doc to get a urine sample done.

If you're loosing amniotic fluid you have to get checked out. I hope it's something else.

I would definitely get it checked out. Could be nothing, could be infection, could be your amniotic fluid. Just to be safe have them do a swab.

Thanks all. I went to the ER because more was coming out and I was scared. I probably had 6-8 gushes of fluid that were watery, almost like urine, but did not smell. They did an exam, swabbed, and looked at the fluid under a microscope, and the dr said it was normal, not an infection and not amniotic. I haven't had any discharge since I left the hospital Thursday, not even a little. It was really weird and I have no idea how to tell the difference between that and amniotic fluid. Hopefully when my water breaks it smells different so I can tell.

I am glad I went to the ER because I was really scared and would never have been able to figure it out without a doctor.

That's great news. They say amniotic fluid smells kind of sweet but I don't remember mine having a smell.
