Well I had loads of sex before I went into Labour and I dialated 6 cms within 2 hours... had that got anything to do with a soft cervix? xx

I've never heard of that, so I don't think it's true!

But, if a guy cums in you, sperm has the same thing as like pitocin to induce labor! So that's why if you have sex, then you can bring it onnn

I knew sex was supposed to bring on labor, but I didn't know it had pitocin type stuff in it. I need to have sex more.

Ahh, no i actually heard that too and asked my midwife and she fell about laughing and said it doesn't do anything (We were going through natural induction techniques and i had a list of millions)..

but yeah apparently it works down below, because the movements encourage bubs to drop and the spermys contain something to bring on labour..

we decided on eating curry, whilst blowing up balloons, and DTD.. if you do them all at once, surely they have more power

yeah it does, but the stuff inside the sperm softens the cervix, which cause labour to be brought on, however.. if the cervix isn't ready to be softened it won't be - and that's the same with induction tablets too.. if the cervix isn't ready to be softened it wouldn't do much.. hence the reason some people end up needing a c-section after an unsuccessful induction..

it also doesn't contain as much as the tablets and stuff probably would, it's just the movement in sex and the contents of the sperm cause the cervix to soften - however it wouldn't have an induction effect on someone who's body REALLY wasn't ready to do anything.. but after about 37 weeks, your body starts getting ready..

I heard this too... it reminds me of one of Michael Macintyre's jokes (I LOVE that man!!) where when his wife was overdue she read swallowing sperm and drinking raspberry leaf tea were meant to work and he got all excited and she just said 'can't you just mix it in with the tea for me?' typical pregnant woman
