too much sleep???

my son is now 8days old, im feeding him roughly every 3 hrs but this morning he went 5 hrs and has slept alot today; he has been awake and opened his eyes a couple times but just seems to have slept the day away. he due for a feed about now but I want to leave him to see if he wakes himself

how often is every ones little one sleeping??? i think he is prob sleeping 21 out of 24 hrs

my son is the same. after 5 hours i feel panicky and tend to wake him to eat. though i'm trying to let him decide when to eat now he's a bit older.
