I felt really sick last night. OH had to help me get into my pjs just to get into bed. I always have my electric blanket on, just to take the chill off the sheets and switch it off when I get in but last night I was so sick I fell asleep with it ON... I went to bed at about 10:45 and woke at 3:30 absolutely roasting... I'm only 8 +3 today and I know overheating for more than 10mins can cause damage in 1st tri... I'm in tears here... What have I done... :(

Oh sweetie. Try not to stress out. I KNOW it's hard but getting upset isn't good for you and ur lil bean.

Phone your midwife. I'm sure they'll offer some advice. They must be hearing things like this all the time in this awful weather. If there's no joy there phone docs.

Sending great big :hugs:

Awww hunnie - don't stress. You probably didn't overheat for long, as your body's response is to wake up.

I am sure you will be ok xx :hugs:

I know I shouldn't have googled it but it said 10mins can cause neural tube defects in 1st tri... I haven't been booked in yet so technically don't have a mw I tried to call my old mw a few times last week but I think they're so busy and because I'm not o. Their list yet I don't factor in.... I KNOW I'm probably panicking over nothing but you girls know that PAL is so much scarier...

Thanks for the support girls x

I know how you feel chick. I know I'd be exactly the same. PAL or losses in your case Aais is so much more difficult. When I got my bfp I was worrying about eating Brie at 2 dpo !!!!!

Dont forget you have my support always.

Oh yea and no more googling!!!! Phone ur doc and ask for a telephone appt xx

Embo are you gonna ninja me for googling?? I'll maybe try my old mw again because I trust her and take deep breaths and stop freaking out... Or try to! <3

Oh try not stress to much hun, lil noodle won't like you stressing :hugs: I'm sure you woke at the point you were over heating like Emma said, take care x

Lol !! You make me chuckle hunny!!

If you leave a message on their machine. Just explain what's happened and hopefully someone will call you back and reassure you :)

Thanks ff :)

Embo my old mw is hospital based, history of mental illness means I fall under consultant care even though I'm fine now, so all I can do is call maternity out patients and see if she's available but I know she's super busy atm

As far as I am aware, you cannot cause a ntd by overheating.

Good to know emmea, it's just what it said online but I know you can't believe everything you read

Hi, when pregnant with my nearly 3 year old daughter I was so exhausted I used to do this all the time - to the point my husband threw the electric blanket away in case I burnt the house down :-(. So this time I only have my hot water bottle to overheat myself with! Gutted though in this weather... So anyway, I didn't do her any harm. Good luck and lots of hugs xx
