well i had 4 done in the past months or so...1 when they diagnostic the polyp and the 3 others because of the twin thing and to see the heartbeats..

anyway i think they usually put lube on the "wand " sorry it's not a magic onebut like the other it doesn't go up far into you so no worries...i do have to said some of the doc will actually hand to you the wand that you grab between your legs so you can insert it by yourself like a tampon or a vibrator ( i find that to be really nice to do it yourself !!) anyway you will be cover up so it's not like they are staring at you wowoo the all time ...

you don't need to drink ...they make me empty my bladder as well

I've had about 3 this week. And they are nothing to worry about. My RE hands it to me to insert, and once you have it in they take over. They aren't even looking down there. So, no worries. And its kinda neat to see your ovaries and uterus on the screen.
