Afternoon ladies.

Myself and OH have really cracked on with everything baby this week. We've picked our names (still don't know the gender) and nursery colours. The only item we're struggling with is our travel system. We don't plan on having another child any time soon so don't require a double stroller option but think it might be best to go for something gender neutral so we can use it again in future.

So... any suggestions? we're willing to spend the extra money as it's going to be used often and again in future. We just want something that looks good and is safe for our little one :) xx

From my experience first time round a base that the car seat clicks on to is great but really its not long until you want something lightweight - McClaren type thing. I wish I hadnt spent so much on a chunky 'does it all' system. I use the Petit Star now, its so light and easy.

Really? We were leaning towards a travel system because I don't get to keep my car during maternity leave and OH needs ours to get to and from work, so I'll be using a lot of public transport.

I'm not sure what to do now :/

Ive had a travel system with both my boys and never found them chunky or heavy. I had a hauck shop n drive system for ds1.. and ds2 i had the hauck malibu all in one which was fantastic. This time round i am getting the oyster max tandem xx

Did you have any problems with buses or trains? I'm a little worried about them being too big and bulky, especially with buses xx

We got the Graco fast action fold travel system online and seen it in store last weekend saved myself $80+. But walked around with it in the store and loved it.

not at all hun. they are both quite compact tbh and i rely on public transport :) xx

We got the Oytser in red for DS (I think they called it "tomato" or something...), and it was great. I used public transport all the time, and did tons of walking. I found it durable enough to deal with all the walking and yet really easy to fold up and store on trains/buses. Oyster have a really wide range of colours to chose from too. I'm actually looking at getting another Oyster this time too, but cant decide between it and one of the city joggers. Too many choices!

I also bought an Ergo baby carrier that was amazing for all the non-rainy days (it was one of my best baby buys, and I'll definitely be using it loads this time round).

ive bought the graco evo and its amazing!

We have the oyster max double in grape. I REALLY wanted to avoid a double this time as I had an icandy peach blossom and a bugaboo donkey before and hated both. So I did have a bugaboo bee plus. It was gorgeous and lightweight and just perfect but sadly although my youngest will be 2 years 8 months when baby arrives, over the last couple of weeks she's proved she just isn't ready to be trusted to walk nicely or stay on a buggy board for any length of time which is just no good when I have to do the school run along a main road with her and my 4 year old.

So I sold my bee and got the oyster max double. It's surprisingly not that heavy or bulky even with my 2 year old in it.

It looks lovely as a single too. And I love the grape colour. Plus all the accessories are really reasonably priced compared to the likes of bugaboo and icandy.

As much as I hate to admit it and I'm not a fan of doubles I would actually highly recommend the oyster max! Even if you buy it as a single, the tandem adaptors are like £20 so if in the future you did decide to have more it's just so easy to add to!

I've heard a lot of good things about the oyster travel system so will definitely be looking in to it today!

I nanny for a couple here and have a similar problem with their son - he's a runner! I attached his reins to the pushchair and he's now walking well off the rein after only a couple of weeks x

If your looking for something longterm and to be used on future babies, maybe a bugaboo? You can revamp it easily with a new set of fabrics. I had the bee+ With dd2 and it was nice and light. Also the buffalo and chameleon are good models.

This time around I've gone for the icandy peach 3 as I loved it.

Really like the look of the Graco Swiftfold. The Evo is nice too. So many choices!
