Trichomonas vaginalis in pregnancy??

Hi everyone, I'm so upset and disgusted to discover I have Trichomonas vaginalis,,it's a sexually transmitted disease which must mean my partner has cheated
My main concern is having this why I'm pregnant and although the health advisor reassured me there will be no harm to the baby at this stage I could go into premature labour
I'm also really worried about the anti biotics they've had to give me and again she reassured me that there is no evidence that they are harmful I still don't like the thought I'm taking them whilst my baby is at the important stages of developing everything!
I feel gutted!! Has anyone else had this whilst pregnant?? Please put my mind at rest someone

Hi Tia - just seen your post, and wanted to say sorry that you are going thru this added stress right now.

Not only are you pregnant, but also dealing with the fact that your bf may have cheated on you I really feel for you hun, and hope that you have some support from family and friends? I don't know of anyone personally that has suffered from this STD, but wish you well, and hope that you can work thru things with your partner. THere is a rare but small chance you can catch TV from a jacuzzi, moist towels or saunas, so there may be a slight chance your bf is not guilty? I do hope so.

Anyhow, try not to worry about the antibiotics, the doc will have prescribed some which are safe in the first trimester - better to treat than to risk prem labour hun. Take care xxx
