Ok ladies... my friend just got this recipe from her doula for a supposed way to bring on labor. She shared it with me and now I am going to share it with you all in hopes that it will help some of us out. I am not ready to go into labor myself quite yet but will be trying this out at around 38/39 weeks.

If anyone tries it... Let me know if it works for you! Below is the website with testimonials of women who have tried this. Good luck!

I saw this recipe the other day and wanted to try it. I doubt it will put me into labor but I'm having anyway because it looks so good!

Is an egg plant the same as an aubergine?

Yes

Eggplant is a species of nightshade commonly known in British English as aubergine and also known as brinjal, brinjal eggplant, melongene, garden egg, or guinea squash. Wikipedia

They are the same from what I believe! And yes, this recipe looks amazing! I wish I was 6 weeks further along so I could have it now :haha:

Well you could have it now. I have had all those ingredients throughout my pregnancy and I'm still pregnant. You won't go into labor unless your body is ready ;)

I actually live about 8 miles down the road from this very restaurant. They have a baby board with eggplant parmigiana babies. Lots of my friends have tried, lots of people here swear by it. I am going to eat there Sunday night. And maybe go for lunch every day after!!!! Too lazy and tired to cook it. :p There is also a restaurant nearby called Provino's that claims the same with their eggplant parmigiana.

Ok..I just made this tonight. I didn't follow the directions exactly. I just used egg and Italian bread crumbs...fried the breaded egg plant in a frying pan with olive oil. Layered in a deep dish pan with Jared marinara sauce, fried breaded egg plant, rocatta, Parmesan, Romero, mozzarella cheese, spinich and oregano....then repeat. Then bake.

I only used two 2 egg plants.

Sooooo good!! I don't know why I never ate this before but it will now be a weekly dish in our home xxx

Yummy! Hopefully I can make this right when I try it lol! And hopefully it will spark labor vibes in the ladies that are trying to naturally bring on labor

Mrs. M- I am gonna stalk you the next couple days lol to see if you go into labor :D

Eggplant parmigiana has been known to induce labor and I have no idea why! Many many people swear that when they wanted to induce labor they went and ate this dish at an Italian resto and apparently it works every time!

I wonder if olive gardens eggplant parmesan would bring the same results. I'm willing to try anything.

Lol sounds good to me! I'm hoping I don't go into labor until at least Monday because that's when I get my pool. After Monday....bring on the labor! Lol

I think that's just an old wives tale. I had eggplant parm twice this pregnancy and ate loads of it and it didn't do anything..but then again I'm still early yet so maybe it will do something if your body is ready

What I don't get is if its the herbs that they claim that put you into labor then why do they recommend this particular dish and not just spaghetti, pizza or other Italian dishes?? Just load on the garlic, oregano and basil!

Yeah I think Mrs. Mcguin was correct when she said that it only works if your body is ready for labor. Maybe like a jump start lol. But still worth a try for all us women who get desperate near the end

Good point!
