Well, I have been trying to get pregnant for years and I have never been successful, so far. I have always wanted to become a mother.

On my first visit to a gynecologist, I had signs of pregnancy - morning sickness, headache and my monthly period was a bit late. I was 22 and single but I had a boyfriend whom I frequently had sex with, so I was hoping and praying that the doctor would declare me pregnant. But that didn't happen. She said I might have ovarian cysts. After an ultrasound, she confirmed it. I went to see another doctor, praying that her diagnosis would be different. But, of course, it was just the same. After a few weeks, the cysts were removed along with my right ovary and Fallopian tube because the doctor said it wouldn't stop bleeding. Every time I look at my abdominal scar, I can't help but think to myself that I should have tried alternative medicines. Maybe it would have worked as well. Now I have a slimmer chance of getting pregnant. After that surgery, the doctor said I may have a chance of getting pregnant since I still have the left ovary and Fallopian tube working. My menstruation still comes every month. I get a positive on an ovulation prediction kit but I always get a negative on a pregnancy test kit. It gets more frustrating each month.

It's been two years after that surgery and I still haven't been pregnant. This Thursday, my doctor will check if my tube is blocked. I just hope it'll all be fine. :(

big hugs

I would repost in long term ttc as this is a techy help area for probs with signatures etc

good luck

Do you know if you get cysts on the other ovary? I don't get cysts so I'm no expert but could you have PCOS? Seems really extreme to remove ovary and tube from a healthy woman in her 20's bc of cysts.

I have a gut feeling you should switch docs entirely and get in to a proper FS. You most likely will only have a shot every other cycle with one ovary which would prolong things, but there could be more at play.

Wow...reading your post entirely freaked me out...I honestly had to double check the name of the poster to see if I had posted this and forgot about it. You story is almost identical to mine, besides the fact that you were 22 when you had your surgery, I was 21. My story is almost identical, we had been trying to some time and when I went to the dr the first time at 21 they found a huge (grapefruit sized) cyst on my left ovary. During surgery they removed one ovary and one fallopian tube. At the time I wasn't as heart broken as I was now, because the dr had said that huge cyst was what was keeping me from getting pregnant. Years later, even after medicated cycles and IUI's, still nothing to show. Besides a 2.5 week period when I was pregnant before mc when I was on Cloud 9. Now I am not on any cloud, I might as well be Eyeore under a huge rain cloud. Last cycle they found a golf ball sized cyst on my remaining ovary and I am having it checked next week to see if anything has changed. Dr is ALREADY talking about another surgery. I am basically fleeing for the hills! I will have 3rd and 4th opions before I risk losing my last ovary. I am scared sick about everything and I want to start IVF sooner rather than later.

Sorry to go on and on, but it's scary how similar our situations are.
