type 1 diabetics ttc, need a buddie?

hi dee,
when i first started on the pump i was testing about 6 times per day purely out of interest. I now test before each meal, breakfast, lunch, dinner and then before bed. Sometimes I test 2 hours after eating to see if i had calculated correctly with my carb count.
I had the cgm once and nearly threw the damn thing out the window, It was telling my machine to turn off cus i was hypo and then wen i did finger prick it was 15mmols!!! So now i just stick to finger pricking.
I am currently on cd 32 and still no AF. Not really getting any signs either. I have been getting bad cramping, few blood spots on wiping (TMI) and i did a clearblue plus test on friday and me and other half thought we cud see a line but werent sure. Anyhow bout an hour later had a definate line but put this down to evap line. I have had a snuffly cold for 2 weeks now and my boobs are really itching!! but i really dont want to get my hopes up as i did before and felt like crap wen AF did show.
Anyhow good luck with the pump. Once you get used to it you will love it.

how many dpo are you?? i didnt test till 14dpo, sugars were high for three days before and i couldn't get them down and my boobs were sooo sore, fingers crossed for you hun:hugs:

Any more testing kinks..just read your post and now am dying to know. Have my fingers crossed for you!:hugs:Kind of glad to hear the CGMS wasn't that useful as I was bummed I didn't get approved by my insurance for it.Waiting to hear from you:dust:

hiya buds,

no news yet im afraid. today im about 14dpo, im not very good at pinning it down to exact. I tested on monday afternoon on frer and was negative. Now think i was wrong in above post, just counted and think im cd day 32 and think i ovulated day 18. Im rubbish lol.
Anyhow no signs of af as yet so if nothing by friday then im testing again. I will be 35 days then and my last cycle was 35 days anyhow. I get really annoyed at getting all symptoms then testing then getting sod all, but hey ho onwards and upwards as they say.
dee how is pump training going.?

Gozo how is pregnancy going? What effect is it currently having on your blood sugars?

hi kinks

blood sugars were high 3 days before i found out i was preggnant, nothing seemed to bring them down, now they have def come down, still get the odd high but on a whole they are below 9 even 2 hours after meals, i think they go high when i over compensate the lows and there have been a few of them. i think the lows really kick in at bout 8 weeks so got a couple of weeks to go, i need to go and get one of those glucose injection things incase im out for count and hubby can stab it in, i didnt need one last time but just to be safe...fingers crossed for friday i'll be looking out for your posts

dee - good luck with new pump and hope its not too intense on thursday, let us know

ladybird - hope your ok too, keep in touch

Hey girls...haven't been on in a while.. how are you all doing? Still not officially hooked up to the pump..but my nurse has been looking at my levels to be able to program them in the pump. I go again tomorrow morning at 9:00. Hope you are all well:hugs:

hi dee,
Are you all systems go now on the insulin pump?.
I went to see the gynae doctor on thursday as a cancellation appointment. They took some swabs and have requested that i have progesterone bloods done on day 25 rather than day 21 because we worked out i must ovulate around day 18. I have also got to book a hsg test on the first day of my next period. She discussed clomid with me but isnt keen immediately because of the high chances of mutiple pregnancies as she said "its hard enough for a diabetic mother to carry one no matter two or three". So im just waiting now to see what results i get from those tests. In the meanwhile I have brought some ic opk's to try out this month. Im really gonna go for it this month lol.
Oh and i just found out my younger brother and his girlfriend are having a baby, gosh u shud have seen the hissy fit I had in private with my other half. I took alot of consoling to say the least.
Anyhow how are we all? Gozo how is pregnancy going? Dee are u actally ttc? or waiting to be on pump first?

Well that is kind of a tricky question..we were ttc and then we decided to ntnp..then we said we would wait, then we said no let's do it...on and on. My nurse had to cancel my appointment the other day but I go at 1:00 today. I just wish this would happen already so that we can get serious about ttc and I can stop stressing. I have dreams about alarms going off and I have no idea what to do!!!I have to chill out. Good luck with your tests Kinks..I hope you get the answers you are looking for so you can get that BFP!!!! I know how you feel about other people getting pregnant..it is hard to hear when you have been trying. I hope to see your name on the BFP list soon hun!!:hugs:
Gozo- how are you feeling..any ultrasounds or doc appointments coming up soon...hope all is well with you and baby:hugs:

I AM OFFICIALLY HOOKED UP!!!!!:happydance:Finally I have my pump all set up and running. It's kind of weird though..I don't feel it but I know it's there. I thought using the Quick Set would hurt a lot more going in but I hardly felt it. My Diabetic Nurse was laughing at me because my pump is pink!! If I have to wear this thing all the time..at least I will be stylish!! The timimg couldn't be better as I ov in a couple days!!I am sooo ready to have more control over sugars and to feel good again.

I was on metformin and glyclazide but changed to insulin when started TTC.

Hi there! I'm type 2 as well. I was on gliclazide before TTC and then changed to metformin and insulin plus the 5mg of folic acid a day. Sadly that was over 2 1/2 years ago and we're still trying. My control has slipped at points where I've been struggling with TTC but my latest Hba1c was 6.8 so all good!

Good luck ladies! x

Hi ladies

I hope you are all well... I haven't posted for a little while but just to update - I'm currently 4 dpo of the dreaded 2WW and trying my best to be patient! I ov'd on sunday but we only BD'd on the saturday night and hadn't done it since the monday before that so hoping it was enough! It's my first cycle after my chemical pregnancy so hoping the rumours about being very fertile straight after one is true!

Gozo - how are things going with your pregnancy? How are you feeling and are your sugars controlling ok?

kinks - any news with you? Did you test again in the end?

Dee - How are you getting on with the pump?

Leila - Nice to meet you! What have the docs said about TTC for 2 and a half years? Have they offered any form of tests or support at all?

I've also been on the 5mg folic acid for months and after my chem preg I've started taking 100mg vitamin B6, vitamin C + Iron tablets and a vitamin B complex as well as the Pregnacare Conception tablets... it's a wonder I'm not rattling!!

xx

wow!!! Just seen the post that yr preggars!! A massive congrats from me :) you must be thrilled :)))) xxxx

hi girls!!!:hi:

hope everyone is well, not much going on here, the next diabectic/antenatal clinic is not for about another four weeks so im a bit peed off that its soooo long away, my doc refered me to the normal midwife bit as well 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything from them either so she is chasing it up as well, if it wasn't for the bigger boobs and the constant feeling sick i think it feels like i made it up, doesnt feel real till i see a scan to check everything ok. Sugars have really started to settle now i've figured out my carb/insulin ratio, currently 2 units for 10g carg, seems a lot but i think im just about to go into the crazy low stage so will have to readjust then.

dee - hope pump is going ok

kinks - hope things are ok, update us where you are

leila - welcome, nice to meet you

ladybird/tink - welcome back

:dust:to everyone

Ladybird - I've had all the blood tests going plus a HyCoSy, all back fine. DH has had 2 SAs, both a bit shonky but technically no reason for us not to conceive naturally. We've been referred for treatment but having to wait for our appointment letter. It's feeling like a long wait!

hey all.
I went to see a gynae consultant last friday and they took swabs. They want me to have 21 day progesterone bloods done on day 25 instead beacause they do think i ovulate but not on day 14 and more so day 18 so im having those done on 18th april. If af shows I got to ring and book a hsg test and go from there!! I brought some ic opk and am using them this month but only getting slightly darker at the mo (cd 18 will be monday coming) so gonna do them twice a day and see where that gets me.
Hope you all doing ok. Everyone round me seems to be getting preggers its like an epidemic that im not involved in lol.

Hi ladies..hope you all are well. My pump is going well..I'm still learning and still nervous using my quick set..I hesitate about 6 times before I actually do it!! there is an info session I am attending tonight on pump usage and get to meet other people on pumps. Hoping all your appointments turn out well ladies and happy:sex::hugs:

hi kinks i had my bloods done day 3 which were all fine, and the first time they tried to get prog done they only had a reading of 0.7, the second month i used the clear blue fertility monitor and got a peak on cd 20/21 so i arranged for my bloods to be done on cd28 and got my reading of 51, its got to be over 30 to prove ovulation, thats the month i got preggers, if you can use some sort of ovulation prediction stick it'll make it easier to get the right day to do bloods, good luck

Wow Gozo..9 weeks along already..how you feeling? Hope all is well with you.
Any luck using the opk's Kinks? I have thought about using them but DH and I decided to just do our thing and see what happens. DD was like a science experiment with temping and checking CM...just too much pressure. The month we decided to stop doing all that stuff was the month I got pregnant..could be a coincidence I guess. I have some really clear signs that I ov though. I get lots of CM and pains in my ovaries. I ov early on in my cycle..usually CD9. I had an abnormal pap come back and I will be going to the cholposcopy clinic to get checked out. My doc said it is good that I have regular paps to detect anything early on. She said I have...and excuse the spelling...a high grade intraepitheial lesion. She said they would check me out at the clinic..if they see anything they will do a biopsy and from there a LEEP if necessary. Hoping all is great with everyone and wishing us all BFPs very soon.:hugs:

Ladybird..I just noticed you have 3 days left before testing..good luck hun:hugs:
Leila Fae...any news yet about your specialist appointments?

YES! :happydance:

Received a letter and info pack from the clinic yesterday with our appointment date of 13 MAY!! We were expecting to have to wait at least 6 months but it's only 4 weeks :cloud9:
