Im so depressed, I had GD with my son and i am only 6 weeks and had my first 1 hour glucose test yesterday and failed it. Have to do the 3 hour test next week. It was hard enough last time only having it from 20something weeks til delivery but if ihave it from 6 weeks on... seriously?! UGH!!! I know its worth it and i will do my best to control it and have a healthy baby but gah this sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry, i needed to vent.

hello? anyone? really?

I just heard from the dr today and I failed my 3 hour test as well. So I do have it. =(

Ah that sucks... sorry to hear that.

I'm dreading my test results, haven't even been tested yet but know I will be :(

have you had it before? can u just tell you have it already? I could just tell, i knew i was going to fail it i just get so sick when i eat sugars/carbs.

:hugs: I got an early diagnosis as well (7 weeks) and it totally SUCKS!! But as my GD nurse said yesterday when I voiced some frustration "it's allowing you to be an amazing mommy before your baby is even born!"

:hugs:

I was diagnosed at 12 weeks, so I definitely understand how you feel! It's awful and I'm so sorry. But you will make it!

oh, so sorry you failed the three hr test. Do you have to do the shots or just control with what you eat? I have always feared I would get it, because I'm a bigger girl so I have had the thought I would fail a test, but thankfully I haven't. I'm just scared of having to do shots. I hope you do okay with it and I know the baby will be healthy. :)

That is an early diagnosis :hugs: - maybe they should test you after this pregnancy too since at 6 weeks your body should not be insulin resistant - that usually happens much later. Another warning and that is that the hormones of pregnancy can result in it seeming like your sugars are better at around 10-14 weeks pregnancy and sometimes earlier as baby develops, so it could be an interesting ride through pregnancy.

Thinking of you and hoping you can get it all sorted and well controlled and have a good if tough pregnancy - remember the reward at the end is well worth it!

I got diagnosed at 6 weeks an have been on insulin the entire time. I never thought I would get it, but you honestly just never know. I'm thin and active, but I do have a little family history of diabetes. It's definitely frustrating. I'm guessing I'll still have elevated sugars after my baby comes, but should be able to stop the insulin. As awful as the diabetes is, there have been upsides for me- I haven't gained too much weight, I get loads of ultrasounds and I was able to convince my job to put me in a more relaxed position during my pregnancy. Just try to find and focus on any positives you can find, and allow yourself to not be perfect occasionally. I cut myself some slack in the second trimester after I learned control an before my hormones got too crazy.

Good luck with your pregnancy!

Thank you guys so much, your kind words really help me more than you know ! I am so happy I am not the only one with an early diagnosis!!

I didn't know it could start that early! I had it in my last pregnancy and thought I was free until my test at 16 weeks. I better get testing my sugar levels

i was diagnosed at 9 wks and insulin dependant by 11 wks...it does suck but its worth it
