UK crimes.

I don't like gun accessibilty for the American public either. And I'm prior active duty military!
I wish our laws were more like Japan, (where I am currently), or the UK. :(

what's the law in Japan>?

You can't have any guns here unless you're required by your job or you have a special license.

The only type of firearm which a Japanese citizen may even contemplate acquiring is a shotgun.[5] Sportsmen are permitted to possess shotguns for hunting and for skeet and trap (p.27)shooting, but only after submitting to a lengthy licensing procedure.[6] Without a license, a person may not even hold a gun in his or her hands.

thanks for the info..i like that! wish it was like that everywhere else

Really does depend on what area you are in, where I am in Northern Ireland its fine you can leave your door unlocked. Not like that everywhere though. Totally different to when I was growing up when the troubles where on.

FAO Aliss: https://www.libertysafe.com/ That's what my dad has. I did a quick search and they have dealers in New York :flower:

Here is a list of countries and crime rate (haven't read through - only first page, so sorry if this is a repeat)

Same as Canada.

Gun laws are VERY lax in Alaska. Haha..I hear them for buy/sell/trade all the time on the radio or in the newspaper and I have two under my bed. I'd be willing to bet almost everyone in my town owns a gun, but never have I heard in all my life living here of a gun-related crime (aside from shooting an animal out of hunting season). Lots of people subsistence hunt here for food, and it's wise to carry a gun when out walking in case a bear approaches you.

I think it really depends on the city. If I were in some major/downtown city like Chicago or New York City and the gun laws were as lax there as they were here...I'd be terrified to leave my hotel. Too many gangs and slums!

HA! WTH America?
Part of me wonders how many of those crimes are minors consuming alcohol crimes...that's what makes up about 75% of our local police blotters. I think the alcohol age limit in America is so....dumb.

Alaska, I agree with you there! Once I turned 21, I had my fill of drinking from college! At 18 you can vote, go to war, smoke, and are legally an adult, but can't drink!? It's a little nuts.

Plus look at the size of America compared to 2nd place, the UK and we are tiny compared to France and Germany but still above them. I see that Canada is huge but much less than many, but I dont know how densely populated it is in comparision, cos I think that makes a difference.

The UK has a lower drink age but we have a real problem with binge drinking, so I imagine a lot of those statistics are Friday/Saturday night drunk and disorderly type crimes x

The British Crime survey is the best way of finding out about crime in the UK - https://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/scien.../crime/crime-statistics/british-crime-survey/

I think gun crime is WAAAAAAAAY lower due to lesser access of guns.

I live in the new forest, the worst crime is probably sparse vehicle crime!

i so want to move that way....... !!!!

The main difference i think between the UK and USA is the gun crime and gang culture isnt as bad here.

Gun crime, yes, gang culture? I respectfully disagree. There is a gang culture in the UK, just not a prevalent as that in the USA.

I'd like to see a crime rate per capita chart. I looked it up on Google and all I could find was splitting the crimes up per capita like "rape per capita" and "murder per capita." When this is taken into account, it makes a lot more sense. Places like Columbia, Iraq, Guatemala, and El Salvador make the top spots on a lot of the lists. Certainly these countries are much more dangerous than the UK and America!!

I wouldnt say Gang is quite on the same level.

The UK has 'gangs' and the gang culture but I think its definitely on a different level to the USA.............this is just based on documentaries i have seen about the gang cultures in america and the UK.
I also think the USA there seems to be more racial segregation (voluntary than here in the UK.
