Uk election

But how would it be possible for labour to form a government ? It just don't add up. Saying that I'm incredibly proud of Corbyn!

The conservative campaign was complete utter mess

Positives:

1) UKIP slaughtered
2) Scottish referendum off the cards (personal preference)
3) young voters came out in their droves
4) hard Brexit looking less likely
5) labour looking much stronger, Corbyn taken seriously
6) Tories took a massive punch to the stomach

Lots of uncertainty but I'm thinking on the bright side!

May is going to Buckingham palace this afternoon to ask permission to form a UK government. So what does that mean?

I guess that she's hoping to run as a minority, then she will rely on other party MPs (perhaps through deals) when she needs to get things passed.

She will be wanting a minority government no? That cant last surely.

Good way of looking at it pearls. I would vote SNP if they didnt want independence (i am in Scotland).

Her as a minority isn't so bad I guess. That DUP party sounds awful! Against women's rights etc.

If SNP stop chasing that then perhaps they can have a ressurgence next time? And take back some con seats!

Labour can form a minority government. So, they would be relying on other parties to support them whilst in power. They don't have to form a coalition. Although it's more likely there will be another early election if this happens. They will inevitably want to seek a majority vote, in order to run the country without having to rely all the time on other parties to back them.

This probably means she's doing what I said above - seeking to form a minority government. But as with Corbyn, if he did this, she will have to seek the support of the other parties throughout and I think it's highly likely, especially given the lost confidence in her case, that an early election will happen again, or she may even face a vote of no confidence

I imagine there will be deals with DUP as ideologically they seem the most aligned although there will be clashes over Brexit but least it's not a coalition with them.

I just want to know what this means for my free school meals 😂😂

Yes you are right, on both. She will be seeking a minority government but it won't last, especially in her case. This was a total mess. She didn't help herself much as well, declaring more cuts to care services and writing off the human rights act immediately before the election. Also, the fact we reverted back to a 'severe' risk from terrorist attacks from 'critical' and then having the London Bridge attacks, what with Tory cuts to police I can't imagine this was taken well by the public. I know she isn't psychic, but they had intelligence and knew these people, so yes... doesn't look good on them lowering the risk and then that happening days later. She won't last long, she's clutching at straws

She's 'May the lunch snatcher'. If she's in power lunches are a gone

I've just read on the Guardian that Theresa May has reached a deal with the DUP

The DUP will set us back hundreds of years.

Disgusting party.

Wow wow wow, what a mess! Bet Europe are looking at us with pure amusement.

So proud of Corbyn, what an amazing campaign he led. People power! TM off to see the Queen shortly apparently..

I hope Liz tells her to f*** off

It's not a coalition though I don't believe, it's just an understanding of support??

Will it have to be passed through parliament or can it just be revoked?

:haha:

The queen doesn't seem to be very Tory if I'm honest! The rest of them yes. But I can imagine her telling May to do one :happydance:

Sadly she probably has to agree :brat:
