Uk election

I have the Queen down as a Corbyn groupie

This may be a stupid question but if a Minister loses their seat can they no longer be one?

I believe it means they've lost their job essentially pearl and the only way to get it back is wait until the next election and try to get back in.

Does she have to agree?

We must look ridiculous to other countries, voting out of the EU and now cant even democratically agree to a government to lead us through it.

What a mess.

In my opinion your free school meals are a goner, well they are means tested under tory arent they!?

Whenever the Tories end up in government we end up the laughing stock of the west...

I hope Liz tells her to f*** off

:haha:

The queen doesn't seem to be very Tory if I'm honest! The rest of them yes. But I can imagine her telling May to do one :happydance:

Sadly she probably has to agree :brat:

Actually I think she is responsible for appointing them. She can't decide who, but she can refuse them, I think. I think they have to have her approval.
I also hope she pours her tea over her head... and launches a scone

I hope she sits there grinning that sinister grin she does sometimes. Then launches into your very British attack

Boomerslady is right. They lose their job. I was hoping Amber Rudd would be gone.

We need proportional representation. Less than 800,000 votes between labour and conservatives yet conservatives have 57 more seats. Yet snp have 35 with just under 1m votes, lib dem had 2.3m votes and 12, green 500k and 1, dup 10 seats and just under 300,000. Completely unfair system and certainly what leads to some feeling like their voice isn't heard.

Also the youth turn out was amazing (which is my demographic, LOL) :happydance:

I agree, there was a guy from Green saying they had twice the votes of DUP but look at the influence DUP will now have. That said UKIP would of had a hell of a lot more sway last time if it was prop Rep!

I remember writing similar the last time and people said but ukip would have more power, which is true but I think if it's the will of the people then even if we don't necessarily agree with it then it should be followed. And tbf ukip got what they wanted without any power.

Very true! I'm just a bit nervous with democracy since the events of 2016 haha.

What a complete and utter mess. I agree Tasha that it does seem really unfair. I understand how it is done but I do not like it at all.

May is a total disgrace I have no faith in her at all. Can we hope the queen says no,drag it out , 10 days and the another election? I don't like nasty protests but I do think we sit back and accept the unfair a bit too much. People need a voice to be heard.

Sadly, I don't think the Queen can say no. Even if she has no trust in TM. From what I can gather there always has to be a PM so she'll have to agree? is that right?

She cant say no i dont think as long as the party leader has a working government which technically she will with support from DUP.

I also read that labour wants to lead as a minority government and i dont understand that. This is where my understanding of politics fails me.

I'm assuming that can only happen if the conservatives step down?? Which seems incredibly unlikely, I assume without the numbers it isn't possible, the conservatives have first dibs??

Queen has given May permission to form a minority government...
