ultrasound - probe?

So I'm lucky enough to be in part of the world where ther eis only private medical insurance and I get a first scan at 7 weeks. But I THINK it's an ultrasound on a probe , which they pop up you. It might not be, but I've my suspicions it is.
Has anyone had one of these? I mean....is it OK? there's no chance they'll poke the poor embryo?

Ive got no idea, but from what other people have said, I think they do do an iternal one at that stage. I doubt theyd do it if there was any risk involved for the baby either, so dont worry!

I've had two transvag ones. The first one was uncomfortable but it's worth it when they find your baby! There's not proof that they hurt your baby and at 5wk (because there was only a yolk sak) & 8wk (because my bladder was empty) it didn't cause my little one any harm! Saying that, at 7wk I had a normal scan so you might be lucky ! Just try and fill your bladder!
