Underhand tactics - formula companies

Darnit!!!! Now I want a whopper... :( It was a huge craving when pregnant with Kayleigh, even though I only gave in like 3 times... ugh... I WANT A WHOPPER! I shouldn't have been nosy LOL

Now that one is missleading because the whoopers never look that good IRL :)

Blehh... I used to eat BK damn near every day a few years ago, I can't even look at a junior whopper anymore! lol I had McD's for breakfast this morning though, I looooove their breakfast even though I hate the rest of their food. :)

Oh and the answer about the baby modeling for formula...Nope! I think that wouldn't be fair as she isn't formula fed... it would be wrong in my eyes, now if I could show expecting moms a picture like this below... I think that would be nice. This picture says so much to me. I find it beautiful and would much rather see this every day as an ad :)

I know this thread isn't talking about the original topic anymore but I just wanted to add an observation!! I just turned on the TV and funny enough there was an SMA advert on - advertising their toddler milk. At the end of the advert I noticed a way they've tried getting around the law to advertise the baby's milk. They show a chalk drawing of a maths sum and say ''SMA, We've got the formula'' Totally irrelevant to toddler milk, but a veiled reminder that they also make FORMULA. Without this thread I would never have noticed - so not the power of advertising for me, the power of BnB :haha:
xx

Toddler milk is Formula? It comes in the same tubs and is powder that still has to be mixed the same as 0-1yr formula.

Does nobody get up and make a brew when the adverts come on? I do, I rarely notice them even though they hike up the volume on breaks.

Not every advert interests you - Where did the burger and power of advertising come in? Would a vegetarian be swayed to go have a Burger King whooper after seeing one on the TV? Silly comparisons now popping up through some light hearted banter. Not one single advert lead me to make my choice on what the discussion is about ...I may be gullible to a bargain and a fancy kitchen appliance that I will only use once but turn my nose at those CD subscriptions £29.95 & £3.95 delivery saving £blahblah - I was never swayed where my children are concerned, I don't think I even noticed the adverts when I was pregnant.

The SMA adverts I forget what they are about I watch the advert when noticed and think the LOs are just so cute which tbh detours me from the point of the advert (the product) and watch my girls giggle at the babies on TV again mind off what it's about ...is that just me?

Ok to be more clear then, the formula for young babies that they're not allowed to advertise :dohh:

I don't usually watch the adverts either, I turn the volume down and go and snack on something (baddd) but this was on as I turned on the TV this morning. I think the only thing I've gone out and bought after seeing an advert is the 3 for £10 on Sainsburys meat once. I then made a sunday roast and froze the other two joints. I love me a bargain. But as I said, before this thread I'd never have taken any notice of SMA and their sneaky tactics ;)

All adverts are sneaky I don't think as a whole most people are disputing that ... it doesn't mean we pay attention, we're adults! Now what I dread is the fact whist an adult is surely not that gullible a child is ....not SMA adverts but toys  and they want everything they see, I know I did that as a kid

I was more of a grab the the Argos catalogue and write down the page number of everything I wanted! Oh wait, I always wanted Baby-All-Gone every time I saw the advert...

Whats with the :dohh: I was only saying that the toddler milk is formula so it is not totally irrelevant to what they are advertising.

I've never heard anyone call it 'Toddler formula'. They know what they're doing.

Well exactly a child is gullible to toys ...if it be loads of exciting toys advertised at Christmas or next doors toy you always wanted.
