Hi, I was wondering if anyone could advise. Just having the worst couple of days. Was made redundant yesterday and AF arrived today - makes me wonder what tomorrow will bring. I'm due to start clomid in Dec and my question is that if I can't find another job and if I'm blessed, then (1) what can I expect from future employer? do I need to tell them? will this prejudice them against me? what if they can see it and ask?

Also (2) if I can't find a job can I get help from the government?

I'm so very scared and stressed, never been in such a position before. Would be grateful for any advice / suggestions.

Hi. Are you from the UK? If so... you dont have to tell your employer anything relating to trying for babies/pregnancy. Its sexual discrimination if they hold it against you. They arent even allowed to ask you if you are intending on having children. If your unemployed you can claim job seekers allowance and possibly housing benefit. It will depend on your partners income. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/ This website will give you a rough idea of what help you can get. Good luck with the job hunt. x

Thanks v much, I am from UK. I know that is the case its just sometimes such an unfair world. I'll have a read and take heart. Thank you again.

Yeh it is an unfair world. They arent supposed to discriminate but they do and theres sod all you can do about it. I found it so hard finding work recently.

I wouldnt tell them your trying to concieve its none of their biusness and some can be bias to. If you get preg thats great then tell them. You get income support after that anyway when you are not working.
