Hi everyone, I'm new to this but decided to reach out for some possible uplifting news or advice. I'm only 27, have never been pregnant and have been trying to conceived for almost 3 years now (1 year on our own and 2 almost 3 in fertility treatments). My husband and I have both gone through a plethora of testing only to find nothing wrong with either of us. We have gone through 4 rounds of IUI and 3 rounds of IVF to no avail. I hate to say it but I'm starting to lose hope at this point. How do you all deal with this? any success stories? Would it be worth seeking a second opinion or am I going to just get the same plans/info at any other doctors I seek out?

Treatments: 4 rounds IUI, no success at all, 3 rounds of IVF two embryos implanted each time, 1) day three transfer 2) 5 day morula transfer3) Had DNC done hoping to clear out any "bad" parts of lining then 5 day early blastocysts transfer= ZERO pregnancies for any of it.

Sorry to hear of your struggles. You have definitely been through a lot - way more than you should have to. I don't have any advice or stories, sorry, but I just thought I would suggest that you check out the Long Term Trying to Conceive forums, if you haven't already. I'm sure you'll find a lot of empathetic ladies there :hugs:

I am so sorry you are going through this difficult experience. I have not walked the path personally, but have several close friends who have struggled with fertility. You didn't mention in your post if you had any genetic testing done on your embryos. This comes to mind because, in one friend's case, she ended up with 8 decent looking embryos following an IVF cycle. Because she and her husband were both older, the reproduction specialists recommended some sort of genetic testing that was done on tissue collected from each embryo before they were frozen for later implantation. I don't know exactly what they test for (if it's specific things, or just general abnormalities), but her results indicated that 7 of the 8 had genetic abnormalities so severe that they never would have resulted in a viable pregnancy.

I'm sorry I don't know more about the details, but it may be worth asking your doctors if this would be appropriate. Best of luck to you. One very bright side is that your youth is a benefit in pursuing any and all means for starting a family.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Have been through 17 cycles of TTC (tried for a year then took a break and are on our 5th cycle of TTC since this break) and we are now beginning the fertility testing process.

Have you been checked for endometriosis? Only surgery can check for this. Often endo is silent. I had infertility for 8 years ( since the age of 21) and I had no reason for it until the discovered my endometriosis. Once they found that, I saw a reproductive immunologist and they discovered that because of my endo, my immune system was in overdrive, and it was preventing implantation. It's called immune implantation dysfunction. I had to suppress my immune system in order to get pregnant. It's difficult to explain so here is a link where you can read about it. If you have any questions please feel free to message me.
