Definitely don't let them fob you off and 'wait it out'
I'm 25 now, but have been TTC for 3.5years, and when I first saw my GP at 22 to say we had been ttc for 12 months he laughed at me and told me to come back in a couple of years. Actually laughed I spent months being upset about it before seeking a second opinion. I registered with a new GP, made an appointment and within months had begun testing and getting under the care of a fertility clinic.
2.5 years later we are completely and utterly unexplained, with one m/c n September 2011. DHs SA is perfect, all of my tests are great and we were due to start IUI in July of this year, checking routine blood results the week before IUI cycle was due to start the FS noticed my AMH level was 32, coupled that with my very mild heart condition and they deemed me too fertile for IUI as they believed I would respond very well to stims and I quote "...we fear you will end up like octo-mom!" (you can't make this up can you!) so we were fast tracked for single transfer IVF.
We started out first cycle in July, but down to a very badly timed gallstone attack 3 hours before we were scanning for egg collection, and subsequent surgery, we have had to put all treatment on hold until the new year.
Sorry, I always end up rambling here...but anyway what I'm trying to say is if I had listened to the first GP who laughed at me, I would still be no closer to finding anything out.
Some medical professionals really shouldn't be in the medical professions, but hopefully you do find a good doctor whose willing to take you seriously soon
