Unintentional co-sleeping

Does anyone do this? I've never been comfortable with the idea of Kai sleeping the whole night in our bed, but lately after he's woken for his early morning feed (between 5am & 6am) I just let him stay in the bed with us. I never intended to do this but I tend to doze whilst he's feeding and he seems to feed and then settle back to sleep a lot more quickly this way. He likes to cuddle up to me but I've read that if the baby is in your bed then he must sleep on his back and I can't get Kai to sleep flat on his back anyway. Anyone else experience/ing this?

Yes in the early weeks i was the same Neece, before i had Brooke i was adamant that i wouldnt do it

Not 100% on the sleeping on their back in your bed thing though, i would of thought the same rules apply no matter where they sleep

my OH worked nights until a couple of months ago, and when she was about 2 months old it was just such a better night if courtney was in my bed... I felt so guilty doing it to begin with cos I didnt want her to get used to it...!!

Now OH goes to work for 6 am and courtney will always come in my bed at about 5.30am for a couple of hours until its wake up time

I do the same thing in a morning so we can both go back to sleep. I get up with the rest of the family while she sleeps then get back into bed with her, feed and kip till 9am!! Dunno how I'm gonna function when I go back to work!

Like others, Rosie sleeps in her cot throughout the night, then come the morning she wakes at 7am, which is far to early for me, so she comes into my bed, and we have a nice lie in..

I never pre planned co sleeping with any of the kids, but Sam wouldnt settle in his moses basket and with oh away weekdays i didnt see any reason not to. He's fine with both moses/cot now but we still mostly co sleep.

In the early days he always slept with his head in the crook of my elbow on his side and his feet tucked into my stomach/lap, now he just flops over onto his back automatically when he's had his fill and likes half the bed to himself..lol

Alex is similar to the babies above. She's in with after about 5am and sleeps wonderfully. Don't feel bad, it's perfectly natural. If you and baby are happy and sleeping then why worry.

Yes Joseph comes into our bed for a cuddle in the mornings, and when he's teething, and when he's poorly! But I do love the cuddles so I'm not really discouraging it at all x

Ellie gets in with us from when she wakes up from her early morning feed. I used to be from 5am-6am but lately shes been going til 7ish which is still to early for me so i feed her lying down and she normally goes back off fora few hours. I love our morning cuddles. Benn gets in as well about 6-7ish so theres all 4 of us in there its really nice ill miss it when they are older and we cant do it anymore.

i always said i'd never do it and much like you when she wakes up for an early morning feed i just put her in bed with us and let her go back to sleep lol she also likes to cuddle up next to me when we're in there but she eventually rolls back over onto her back and she's fine so i'd say its nothing to worry about

If Jasper is in our bed he almost always sleeps facing me, usually face in the boobies! My OH used to freak out about it, thinking I'd suffocate him, but he's fine and I'm not worried. Lately though he'll usually lay on his back, but still turn his head towards me.

Yeh, most co-sleeping babies sleep facing their mum.

Does anyone know any usefull links that I could get more info on the do's and don't of co-sleeping. Its something that I think I'd like to try, but hubby completely against it and hes starting to make me worry that I might roll over and squash little bump.
