Hi all!

just thought I'd update you on Jude's progress, it's been a bit of a whirlwind three weeks but finally got a chance to update so thought of grab it.

Since his birth, Jude had had a bit of a rollercoaster ride through the NICU. he contracted two infections in his gut which he took a while to fight off so we've had a hairy few days, he's been on and off his oxygen through that time but thankfully now he seems to have turned a corner.

Jude came off his oxygen for the last time early last week and since then has continued to thrive. he was taken off his TPN last friday after he stopped aspirating so much of his feeds, and to my delight was moved into transitional care on Saturday. he has had his incubator temperature turned down all the way and continued to maintain.....and so yesterday my sweet boy hatched from his incy and went into a kan-med :cloud9:

Jude seems to have turned 34 weeks and suddenly turned a HUGE corner. he's having milk by bottle now every 3 hours and the peads have guesstimated that he could be home in 2 weeks!!!! :cloud9:

Iv been completley overwhelmed with love, anger, fear, frustration and utter pride these last 3 weeks- its been an absolute rollercoaster but im glad that thankfully Jude seems to be over the worst.

fingers crossed he continues to do so well. I don't want to jinx it so won't say any more....but fingers crossed as tightly as I possibly can. :)

wow what a difference in 3 weeks he has been do brave and will be home before you know it! How are you keeping? the pre-e harder to manage second time around eh I found with Daniel it took longer and was more severe, did dr confirm the blood clot? xx

wonderful news! well done Jude & mummy! can't wait to hear he is home!

i am so pleased to read this, well done on your little boy, i hope he is home with you for christmas, now that would be the best gift ever. hope he continues to be a fighter!!! xx

What a strong little man! Two gut infections is no laughing matter and that's just so wonderful that he came through them strong and got onto the bottle so quickly. Our little girl didn't get the hang of the bottle until 3 days before her release at 36+2, so your bubba was really ahead of the game! Hoping he's home now.

xoxo
