Update on Riley

So Riley is now 6 weeks as of yesterday and 2lbs 14oz! They tried to do CPAP again Saturday and once again he didn't want that yet. So he is still on steroids but they did determine why he was having all the destats it was due to an infection in his uranie and IV. They are done with the antibiotics now and have taken out his Iv and picc line. He is still on the vent but plan to try CPAP again Friday or Saturday. So wish us luck. He is only having one to two destats a day. Does anyone else have a similar situation.

I will keep my fingers crossed for the weekend.

I didn't have a similiar situation as my lo was only ventilated for 4 days but a baby on our unit was ventilated for around 8 weeks before coming off the ventilator successfully. A couple of weeks later they were able to start weaning him off cpap.
