*UPDATED pg 3* Gabbi's check up - I have an odd thing to do, need major help!! lol

Well she went for her monthly check up:

Weight - 8.550 kgs (previous month 8.1 kgs)
Length - 66cms (previous month 63 cms)
Head circ - 41 cms (previous month 41 cms)

Her percentiles have gone down, except length toe age has gone up and head circ to age is the same.

She also had 2 more injections, she was so good, better than I have ever been! I know one was for hepatitis, not sure of the other, one in her leg and the other in her arm. She hardly cried at all!

Nurse, the old nowty know it all nurse, asked about food, OH told her applr, pear and banana, also carrot, she asked about movement, we told her she's all over the place. Nurse actually seemed happy, finally she knows I am doing a good job!!!

Now, here's the odd bit (or maybe not, I've just never heard of it!!)

She has to have a blood test sometime next week and I have to take a urine sample!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How on earth do I get a sample??? They said I have to watch her and try and catch it!!! Can anyone offer a suggestion? My only one was to buy some waterproof clothes and carry her around naked or to strap a bottle between her legs!!!!

Your suggestions, serious ones please , would be greatly appreciated

You can get little bags to stick around her little woman that will collect it for you, did she not give you one? sometimes they use a pad to soak it up.

That was their suggestion??? Sorry, but I can just imagine you chasing her around with a bottle...... I'm no help. I have no idea. My only thought is to maybe put something in her nappy, but what that thing is, I have no idea. Sorry.

This is Bulgaria!! She said we can get special bottles from the pharmacy but it is a bottle, not something you can strap to her! Bless her, Gabbi is gonna think this is hilarious! She already thinks her mummy's a nutter!

I have nappy bags, I wonder if I can adapt it in someway!! Oh I don't know!

The only thing old nursey said was try it over a few days, before 10am and then go with the sample to get blood tests (all before 10am)

I find Erin always wee's with her nappy off if theres a bit of a breeze down there or she's cold (apparently if they are cold it makes em pee).

You could try leaving her nappy off for a while, make it a little chilly in the room or something?? Either that or take her nappy off, put on some really nice clothes and walk around with her... guarantee she'll pee then! Good luck

whaabout gettin her on some kind of waterproof mat and leave her with no nappy on for a while. Get some kind of pippet *sp* (a tube that draws up liquid with the squeezy thing at the top good description eh?!) and nab the wee from the mat that way?! Maybe.....maybe not..... !!!

Ohh i dont envy you..lol what a mission!! I mean would be bit easier with a boy but impossible with a little girly! Hmm lets have a think, I agree with AC81 i think no nappy time is the answer, but that means just sitting and waiting for movement down there! Im nooo help, did the nurse not offer u any suggestions??

Yey, my thread has made someones day!!! Great minds eh!

I think it is a great idea, but Gabbi is "Miss Movement" at the moment, she goes everywhere so getting her to stay in one spot ................ well that's another mission!

First of all sit her inbetween ur legs so she is sat with a bowl under her then wen she as weed just put it in a urine sample bottle n take it to docs
OR u could try standing her in a bath of water as this makes them wee then all u av to do is collect it in a bowl hun x

I had to get a urine sample from rebecca and was given what looked like a really cheap sanitary towel( like a super market own brand- not Always etc) to put in her nappy just after she has been fed and to keep checking for wee, once she had then I had to wring it out into a container. It worked really really well and there was no mess!!

This is what I was going to suggest. Standing her in the bath, it will take two of you.. one standing her, one preparing to catch with a bowl but should work.. Colton ALWAYS pees in the bath, it's a guarantee!

I'm going ot back up the cold environment....someone once told me that if you run warm water over her "little woman" (thanks to whoever said that, that was great *lol*) that it might induce urination. I've never tested that out, but I guess I can see it working...
