Well next week is when we are gonna put your suggestions in to action. I told OH about all your suggestions, he laughed and said we this is gonna be fun .... not!!! We have to get her to the docs before 10am for the blood tests, so the urine has to be got before, about 9.30am! Oh what a morning we will have lol.

Someone asked what the urine sample is for..... I have no idea! Could it be to test protein in her wee like the test I had when I was pregnant?? I have no idea what the blood tests are for either. OH knows (it's all Bulgarian to me!) but he has been so busy that I thought I would leave it till weekend and then bombard him with questions, giving him a few days off. I will find out before the tests though and let you know.

Anyone else had blood tests and urine samples tested at around 6 months?

Ok, we did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sat on the floor with Gabbi sat on my knee, my legs slightly apart so there was a good gap for trickles and put a sterilised tuppaware under neath. We did ok for a while, making her laugh, entertaining her. After about 15 mins she started getting restless, after another 5 mins she started crying and I was just about to give up when we got a fountain!!!!!!!! YEAAAAAHHHHH Gabbi! OH came running in laughing because of my voice, "SHE'S WEEING SHE'S WEEING"!!!!!

So, as it was 9.55am and we had to be there before 10, off we went. Went to the pharmacy to get a tiny little bottle to put the sample in and off to health centre.

It cost 2 leva for blood test and urine test (about 1 pound, private hospital not the local yucky one). Gabbi was asleep. Everyone gathering round because she's a different baby, her mother is English!!! Anyway, they did the finger prick test, she didn't flinch, woke up and smiled. melted everyone, bless.

Went back 2 1/2 hours later, all is well. her hemoglobin level is a little low but doc says once she's on more meat, this level will rise. Is this something to do with iron???

So all is well, thank you all for your input, helped a lot and gave us a few laughs along the way. Now Nanna is flying at the mo, lands at 12 ish, then they have to get the hire car and drive for 2 hours, so will see Nanna in a few hours. It's been too long, so big long hug is in order :)

so glad you got the sample honey! well done you. not sure about the haemoglobin level and iron though, i would have assumed it was x
