Hi,
I was reading out using evening primrose oil to improve CM and help sperm live longer. But is it true that it will increase chances of having a boy and decrease chances of having a girl?? Please help if you know the answer.

I've just started EPO- started my usual premenstrual spotting yesterday, and I didn't really want to take the EPO until I was positive I wasn't pregnant this month, as it causes uterine contractions and can cause miscarriage.
I'm already noticing a massive increase in the volume of my CM... although I also started taking a 100 mg B-Complex supplement last weekend, and I've read that Vitamin B6 also increases CM, so I'm not real sure which one is doing the trick...
The amount of CM I'm having is just one step short of icky, at least to me... but of course, for fertility sake, that's what we want. Icky amounts of CM. Lol! :D

I dunno to take this as sign or not...I was on another forum and they mentioned EPO and I thought I'm going to BnB and see what they say about it.

Well this is going to depend, if you have a totally inhospitable environment for sperm down there the boy making sperm are going to be the first to go, they are weaker and more inclined to drop dead in harsh conditions, when women are more acidic they tend to have more girls, thats why you will find alot of diets when going for a specific geneder are based around making your body alkaline or acidic, also timing of sex, since the males are the weaker sex, hehe we all knew that anyway:haha:, if your aiming for a boy you hold off till ovulation day so the boys have a better chance of fertilizing your egg. So taking epo increases cm making for a much nicer enviroment hence making it more boy friendly, it wouldnt decrease the chances of conceiving a girl, it would just level out the playing field a bit more so to speak! Its only to be taken up till ovulation and then stopped as mentioned above, it can cause uterine contractions in some women and make it impossible for implantation to take place. Also recently there was another post on here somewhere that some epos contain added vitamin A, avoid that one, vitamin A is no good in high doses and has been related to birth defects, thats the reason they omit it from pre-natal supplements. Hope it does the trick for you hun!:hugs:

Question? Do you start taking EPO on the first day of AF until ovulation date?

Yes. Exactly.
EPO has been known to cause mild uterine contractions, which could lead to early miscarriage.
I'm sure the risk is quite minimal, but it's still best to discontinue it after ovulation, just in case you conceived. :)
If you didn't, you can start the EPO again on the first day of your next cycle.
