I want to make peach puree for LO. We don't have any fresh peaches but we do have frozen ones. I'm wondering if they're okay to use though because they do contain ascorbic acid, citric acid and malic acid. I know fresh is best but will these do in a pinch? Or should I just skip it and make something else?

My sister just made peaches from frozen, everything was fine!

Thank you! LO loved them. First thing he's eaten a whole serving of (only about 2 - 3 tablespoons). I hate to stop feeding it to him.

Ascorbic acid is vitamin C and its added to a lot of baby jar purees anyway. Citric acid is the acid in lemon juice, Malic acid is an acidity regulator and naturally occuring in nature. They are added to prevent the fruit deteriorating when frozen and are harmless xx

 This is why I love B&B - there's always someone out there with an answer for me! Thank you!

Thanks. Although I never got round to it there's a lot of info online about safely freezing fruit and with most fruits the advice is to add one or a combination of these acids to prevent spoilage. Also most jar baby food contains abscorbic acid xx
