I've noticed that there's a major difference in the amount of formula when I use the plastic spoon in the container vs a scale. It's basically 1 spoon per 60 ml, and I usually make 500-750 ml at a time. And one scoop is 8.7 g. So for 8 oz, i need about 35 g, or 4 scoops. But with four scoops, it's more than 35g (more than 3-4 g). In the long run, I use significantly more with the spoon than with the scale. So I've decided to use the scale because a) I wanna make sure DD gets the right amount and b) I save money. Anyone else noticed that?

I'd just stick to the scoop that comes with the milk, if it says a specific number of scoops per ml then I'd just do that. I'd never thought about that before!

Its really not supposed to be that exact of a science!

I think it says on my tin that you must use the spoon provided with the tin xx

Are you perhaps squashing the powder down more than you're supposed to? Either way, 1g difference per scoop is fine. If you want to be precise, you'd also need to weigh out your water, since I doubt you always get exactly the same amount in the bottle.

On a side note, is it unusual for it to be one scoop per 60ml? I thought all formulas were prepared in the same ratios to avoid confusing if switching between brands, and I thought that was one scoop per 30ml/1floz.

Yeah I went back to the spoon, easier:haha:

As for the amount all the formulas I've seen here say 1 scoop per 60ml, but I guess it really depends of how the formula is made

All formulas that I have seen are 1 scoop per 60ml/2oz. I wish it was 1oz, I would have less wasted formula.

I know!!! I`m lucky DD isn`t a big drinker (she drinks about 3oz per feed, give or take 1oz)
