Congrats hakuna - just gorgeous!! Well done and you got your VBAC.

I am due july and hoping for VBAC, there will only be 19 months between my 2. I have a consultant appointment after my 20 weeks scan to chat about options. I am a little scared about vbac but also really want to do it after my emcs.

Hey ladies just wanted to subscribe real quick..

I am trying for VBAC only 12 MONTHS apart! :)
Hakuna- you're such an inspiration!!

My doc/MW have been very supportive of my goal, and I plan to have a large family some day, so that's why I chose to try and tough it out! We lost our son last April (he was due April 30th, born March 29th) so I already have one strike on the CS board with no take-home baby. I've been told they'll only safely allow 4, so I hope this goes as planned!

Doc said they'll start performing membrane sweeps at 37 weeks (thank God!) to try and encourage natural labor, since they don't like to induce. If I don't go into labor before 40 weeks, they'll try a foley catheter (balloon to induce) and if worse comes to worst they'll do a Pitocin drip in small amounts to try and kick-start labor. I am hoping and PRAYING I don't need another EMCS!

I will begin taking EPO orally at 34 weeks and vaginally at 36 weeks. Also RLT (which I've drank the entire pregnancy) and maybe a few other tricks I've read to naturally induce labor. I want this so bad!

We're all due days apart! Let's stick together for support.. I'm so nervous/anxious but WE CAN DO IT mamas! :)

Hell yes, Morgan! :D

I've decided I don't want an epidural. I've talked to some of my friends who have gone all natural or used IV medications like Stadol and am more open to that idea. I just can't do it again, I can't. Terrified to let anyone near my back.

Yes Morgan, let's stick together :) i could do with some buddies through this.

Morgan - I am so sorry for the horrendous journey you have had to lead you to today, i admire your spirit and think your vbac plan sounds as solid as it can be :)

hakunamatata - congratulations! And double yay for the vbac :)

X_amour - i had an epidural for my first ( they had to while they stabilised me ready for emcs) i shook like a leaf i was so nervous about it going into my back. Once in it was fine but i wouldn't choose it as a first option personally.

Afm: just thought i'd share my background. My siggy shows i had heaps of fertility treatments for my little girl, my pregnancy with her was pretty easy and uneventful until 38+2 when with no bp warning i woke up with a headache and within the hour had full blown eclampsia with vision loss and seizures. I had a 911 transfer to the hospital but wasn't stable enough for emcs so they popped my waters, gave me an epidural and pitocin. By 6pm the eclampsia meds had stabilised my bp and fits had stopped so i had an emcs.
This pregnancy has had it's challenges too, i had 2 frozen embryos transferred ( about a 1/3 chance of pregnancy with 1 baby from that) , my clinic had never had a twin pregnancy from 2 frozen embryos.....but one split and i fell pregnant with triplets. Because of the increased risk of eclampsia (30x for triplets plus my poor odds from my own history) this was really stressful news. Sadly i lost both identical twins a few days apart at 12 weeks.
My Dr is really supportive of a vbac, the plan for me is vbac pre 40 weeks ( with c section at 40 weeks). They will support me how i wish to try get things going pre 40 weeks.

I did with my first as well. It hurt like absolute hell and I had terrible back complications afterwards, I couldn't walk for 5 months. I shoot up in the air if anyone touches my back so I don't know how I'd sit still for an epidural or spinal. It's one of the reasons I'm so scared to have another c-section.

5 months? wow. Now you mention it i have been left with a funny twitching nerve in my back. I had an epidural and then spinal as well for the c section so it could have been either ( though i think they used the same catheter, i can't really recall )
First time i was scared of c section for the actual surgery, this time it's more the recovery and pain i fear - plus how to explain to my little one she wouldn't be able to be held or sit with me.

Oh Nell it sounds like you've had quite the struggles, too! But so thankful you've got a healthy baby in there. I love hearing stories from other soldier mamas :)

I don't think I want an epidural either. When I had Jaxon they put me out since we'd just been in an accident, so no spinal etc. I not only hate the idea of a needle in my back (and the problems that come from it.. my mom still has pain from hers which was 20 years ago!) but I also want to be able to move around during labor and hopefully deliver NOT on my back. I wanna utilize gravity, the way birth should be. I mean the damage will be done either way, even if I can't feel it, so I'd like to try to go as long as possible w/o an epi. I think DH would be proud :) I have to have constant fetal monitoring during labor since it's a VBAC so that prevents me from trying a water birth.. Maybe next time ;)

Excited to get our VBACs together girls.. Whew FX'd tighter than everrr that nothing stands in our way!

Congratulations Hakuna!!!!! I just found out I am pregnant have first visit 02/12/14 ... EDD 09/25/2014.

- so It's just exciting to see all of us embarking on the journey together! I wish every one tons of luck and Blessings!!!!! My long drawn out desire for VBA3C is a few pages back lol - Im very long winded sometimes Congrats to you all!!!!! ... XOXOXO

Good luck ladies. I had my vbac in May so this time last year I was in your shoes hoping and praying it would all work out. X

I read all the pages and I love the VBAC stories, they give me hope!

I want a VBAC. Doctor said we could try as long as the baby is not too big. She won't induce me but she won't allow me to go over my due date (31 March) or to labor for too long, here's hoping the little one will come at 37-38 weeks!

Found an interesting article, just thought you guys might want to check this out. It says the peanut ball helps shorten labor!

Hi shiseru - I couldn't get the link to work but did manage to find the artile you mentioned. Looks intersting might have to buy one.

Hope you get your VBAC and LO arrives before the eviction date!!

Another hopeful VBAC here...Hoping I can just get through this silly first tri and start concentrating on my wonderful VBAC! :)

^Congrats on your pregnancy sweetie, looks like this has been a tough road for you too <3

Still in VBAC mode, doc said they'd do sweeps starting at 37 weeks and induce April 23rd at 39 weeks if she's not here before then! They're using a foley bulb, so no risks there. I hope hope hope this works out!! :)

I can't believe how fast time is flying.. shower next month and will be starting EPO at the end of March, too! So exciting..

Thanks Morgan...yes a rough road but I have to say a blessed one as well! I had a natural birth with my angel and a c-section with my rainbow so I know I can do it again! Go VBAC!

Hope the stretches work for you and you don`t have to do too many other measures! Can`t wait to hear your VBAC story!

Is anyone else drinking red raspberry leaf tea? Are we supposed to, or not? I've read some sites say VBAC mommies should drink the tea and it will help, but other sources say drinking it after c-section can weaken the scar? I started drinking it at 27 weeks (1 cup/day) but now I'm so confused!
