Well I already have 3 girls,

India, Heavenly and Meadow.

Meadow was born sleeping earlier this year:cry: so if this baby is a girl her middle name will 100% be Meadow.

I love unusual hippy kind of names but things what I can pronounce and mean something, not just aload of jumbled letters if you know what I mean.

for a girls first name we have

Buttercup
Pixie
Precious
Autumn

For a boy we like cole

What do people think of these names and any help with some more would be great!

Emma

p.s no nasty comments please and before anyone ask the borning question I always hear, my girls do not get bullied for there names!

Um the only one I like it Autumn I think thats pretty

So what...you only want people to reply who are going to say "Oh you have such great taste in names, I love them all!!!" and no one else with a different opinion is supposed to comment? Therefore, you don't want real life opinions, you just want to be told you are right....nice.

Anyway, I will refrain from commenting on your name choices (other than I really love Autumn) so as not to offend you and just give you some ideas.

Girls: Echo, Clover, Poppy, Aurora, Daisy, Acacia, Ember, Felicity, June, Pearl, Sapphire, Summer, Willow, Zinnia, Coral, Fern, Holly, May, Melody

Boys: River, August, Jay, Lennon, Orion, Fox, Quinn, Rain, Haven, Sebastian

And I just want to say...I'm very very sorry to hear about the loss of your baby angel. I know personally how hard a loss like that is...my heart goes out to you!

Thanks for your help with names, there are some really lovely ones.
I would just like to say though if people don't like the names I have come up with that is fine and I do not mind people giving thier opintions however there is no need for people to be NASTY about the names my girls have as I am not asking for opintions on them I have simply said there names so people get a idea of the sort of thing we like!

I like some of the names Roo posted. I think of the 'NeverEnding Story' when I hear Buttercup...it's definately not traditional! :D

I am too a fan of unusual names, I really like the combination Zinnia Meadow. I also like the name Echo, but it doesn't go with Meadow in my opinion. Autumn Meadow is nice, but a little bit ...too much maybe. It has nice flow though...

Cole is a fabulous name in my opinion. But again, I like some of the suggestions as well, maybe Cole Lennon? Or Jay Cole?

All the best of luck to you!

i like autumn n love the name cole x

I think you misread what she put...

You don't have to like her name choices, she never asked you to lie about liking her name choices... she asked for people to be nice.
There is a difference between saying 'I don't like this, but I do like that' and 'I HATE THAT NAME, IT IS AWFUL'
I believe this is what she meant by her first post regarding 'No nasty post's'.

Anyway, I love the name Autumn.
Off Roo's list I like willow and Melody for girls, and River and Quinn for boys.

Buttercup- cute :) I also like names like Dandelion, bluebelle etc
Pixie- This is our name for a girl at the mo:)

Thank you, I too like the name bluebelle.

We wouldn't of ordinarily picked something like 'Precious' for a name, its more to do with the fact she would be called Precious-Meadow which would really mean alot to us. but on the other hand I do prefer the other names x

Precious Meadow sounds like a lovely dedication to your angel :)

Roo, that's a little harsh, she didn't ask people who didn't like the names not to reply at all, just not to be nasty in the way they said it. Which is understandable after a recent name thread turned into a big argument over one of the names that's also in Emma's list.

Emma, I love the name Buttercup, it reminds me of Robin Wright Penn in The Princess Bride and if you combine that with Meadow it's absolutely beautiful, it works so well together. Otherwise I think Autumn would also go well with Meadow.

I do like Cole for a boy and also Forrest and Winter.

Were you on the Sands forum when it was open? I was Jody R there as well and I think we might have spoken, I remeber Meadow's name from there.

It wasn't meant to be harsh and I don't think she took it that way either....I just don't understand why people make a note about not wanting any negative replies when asking for opinions. To me, you might as well just say...hey, these are the names I like and if you don't like them, then don't post here. If that's what you're looking for, why post and ask for opinions at all?

When I make a post about names...I'm looking for good, honest opinions. If you hate a name that I posted...tell me you hate it and give me your reason. Telling me "I think the name Aurora has a hideous sound" is a lot more useful to me then "It's okay but not my style." kwim

Everyone has their own reason as to why they don't want negative thing's said.

The OP has said she does not want anything nasty said and I think that should be honoured since you don't know the reasoning behind it all, she is clearly defensive about her names since losing her child, and does not want anything negative said in any way, I'd imagine, to protect her children and her own feeling's.

People have a right to ask for an opinion, with whatever restrictions they desire to place on that.

I think people are quick to jump on the 'Well that's just my opinion' bandwagon, without thinking of people's feeling's.. especially considering the OP's tragic circumstances.

I think people need to be a bit more tactful when replying to name threads. If you do make a post about a particular name you can kind of count on the op liking the name. And yes telling someone "it's ok but not my style" stops peoples feeling getting hurt. It's very hard to convey your real emotions when you post on a forum.

I've read quite a few posts on here where its almost as if people are taking the pee out of people's chosen names.

Hi Emma,

I love the name Autumn and also Buttercup, the other two are not something I would choose but are pretty.

I also having a sleeping daughter her name is Honey, maybe another possibility for you?

If you ever want to chat hun pm me x

Yes I was on sands, I remember your name but can't remember if we spoke, are you on any of the new forums created by some of the sands mummys?

The princess bride is where I got the name 'Buttercup' from. I love it. I can imagine a cute little blond girl with bunches and freckles:)

I also love the name 'Truly scrumptious' (from chitty chitty bang bang) but husband is having none of that one lol.

Autumn is lovely :)

I'm not sure about the others though if I'm honest...

I do like Bluebell as someone else suggested. How about the names Blossom, Honey, Primrose, Tulip, Saffron, Dew, Petal...?

The name Cole is OK, I wouldn't choose it myself. Imo it isn't as unusual as the girly names you have chosen.

Suggestions for boys - Ash, Flint, River, Storm...?

xx

Thank you,

Blossom is Meadow's Middle name :-) I like Honey and petal to but they seam to be becoming very popular latley. Tulip is nice but there is a lady on the radio news called this and huband always takes the mick out of her so its put me off a bit lol

I love River for a boy but husband has really put his foot down on that one.
