We're having our 2nd little girl in March and I like unusual Names but don't want to go too extreme.

We have one little girl 'Leyna' and I want the two names to compliment each other.

What do people think of Vienna. I know its a 'place' name but I don't think it's in the same category as 'Paris' or 'London' which I'm not keen on.

I'm not that keen on it, to be honest. I don't hate it, but I don't think it's as pretty as your daughter's name, which is very nice.

I can't quite put my finger on what doesn't work for me, so I guess I'm not too helpful sorry. I think that Leyna sounds traditional and fairy tale ish (but not overly so) because of the German origin whereas Vienna sounds a bit more modern and cool.

I like it. My LO's name is Vivienne, and another current favorite name is Sienna.... this is the best of both. :)

The two names would complement each other... but are they too similar? If you have a thrid will you need to keep the -a ending, and would you mind? Just some food for thought...

It reminds me of the cookies Vienna fingers to be honest. Not necessarily a bad thing but just thought I'd mention it. I love your daughters name.
Some suggestions to go with Leyna:
Lola, Kiera, Isla, Paisley, Lyra, Maya. ..

Thank you everyone. It's so hard, I think it would have been easier if this bubba had been a boy as I feel like I've already chosen my favorite girls name. I guess all Mummies have this trouble.

I think its Vienna for now but I'll keep looking too.

I love the name Vienna - I think it's gorgeous! My son used to have a very pretty, and super sweet preschool teacher with that name! I personally think Leyna & Vienna are a great sib-set and compliment each other well.

Addtl suggestions:

Leyna & Alexis/Lexi
Leyna & Gianna
Leyna & Lilia
Leyna & Lacey
Leyna & Larissa
Leyna & Savannah

I actually like this name and I'm naf of place names. I think it's a refreshing 'V' name. However, I think it's too similar when said aloud with Leyna :( I agree with PP as well that Vienna feels very modern and Leyna feels more whimsical, but that's not as big of an issue imo as the names sounding so similar. Also I'm a big believer in that if you still feel the need to look, it isn't the right name :)

I LOVE the name Vienna :) It is similar to my daughter's name, and there were times I wondered if I should have called her that instead. lol

In all honesty, its gorgeous and I agree with you, its not as 'placey' as Paris, London, etc.

I really like it, not too common but not unusual either. I also really like it to go with your first daughters name

I like it! My first thought when I read your DD's name too was that you must really like Billy Joel though :haha:.

Haha we do!!! I'm not sure how my daughter will feel when she's older as he's not very 'cool'. Lol.

He has a Vienna song too doesn't he, I've only just realized lol. I guess she may not thank us either.

I don't personally like it but don't think there is anything wrong with it, just not my style! I agree it doesn't sound the same as London or Paris. It's kind of like India.

Yeah he does :haha:. Billy Joel is totally my guilty pleasure music and those are two of my favourites so I think your name choices are great! I'm sure your daughter won't mind, if you named her Piano Man that would be a different story .
