*** Views on baby aprin *** Need advice!

Hello there, I've read about so many successful full term pregnancies after loss(es) being a result of BA...even for women who haven't been tested for blood clotting disorders. Howver I've also read some women advising against it as it can cause a mc??!

I am ttc after a mmc 8 weeks ago, and don't see why I have to wait for potentially another loss before I am tested. I know I have only had one mc, but one is enough and I'm terrified of going through all that emotional trauma and pain again, not to mention all the waiting for my precious bundle. I know some of you ladies have had more than one and I'm so sorry-it makes me so happy to see when you do eventually hold that baby in your arms

So, can any of you ladies share your views/experiences on baby asprin...is it safe to take? Im currently 9dpo and think im out this month already-NO sore boobs (??!) and the mild cramping I had 7&8dpo has stopped


Any advice would be really appreciated xxx

Hey hun.
I can't really answer your question because I wanna know the same thing lol! I've heard so many success stories & I know a lot of ladies on here do take it but they've all had more than 1 loss. I'm like you, I've only had 1 loss and to be honest I really don't wanna wait and see if I could end up having another! When I eventually get my BFP I think I'll speak to my doctor about it, it's also for irregular cycles apparently too which mine are pretty regular so maybe BA doesn't suit me.

Hi,

I'm on baby aspirin full time, and also Clexane which is a blood thinner and Prednisolone. I'm not sure baby aspirin can cause a mc, ibuprophen can cause a mc but I haven't been told baby aspirin could.

Anyway I'm on all of this because I have autoimmune problems and my kidneys tend to produce blood clots and my AF's are usually really clotty as well. I had a mmc in May at 13 weeks and then got pregnant right away after the D&C and straight away again mc in July, so 3 mc in a row. It was decided then that I would use the ba, Clexane and steriod. I didn't get a BFP this cycle so not sure if it'll work yet

I was tested for clotting issues while pregnant with my twins after a pervious MC. While waiting for the test results they placed me on a baby aspirin. Once the tests all came back normal I asked if I should continue the baby aspirin. Both my specialist and my OB said that I could take it or not. It wasn't going to hurt anything. I had voiced concern about excessive bleeding during delivery and my OB said he had never seen a baby aspirin cause that kind of issue. So I continued to take it. I lost the twins at 20 weeks one day, but it had nothing to do with the aspirin. hope this helps.

Ibuprofen doesnt cause a m/c. They say to stop it if taking it around 7 months as there is a hole in the babies heart that needs to close around then and Ibuprofen can stop that from happening. So Yes I guess in a way it can but that is more of the reason.

Well it seems the jury is still out on the BA topic...ill see my gp soon for my day 3 bloods after af arrives or for a more positive reason but im sure af will come this month- I have NO sore boobs, they are normally sore for a least a week before af??? But I've just had my progesterone day 21 blood test results back and they were 58.3 nmol/L which is good to know my prog levels are high enough for future pregnancies. x I'll push for the blood clotting blood tests...don't see why I can't have it done? x

I'm currently on baby aspirin after 2 MCs. I had a number of tests done for clotting disorders - all of which came back as normal. My doctor advised to take it as a precaution anyway and to stop about about 36 weeks so it has no effect on birth. I have still to fall pregnant again but am going to stick to his advice.

Apparently there are hundreds of different clotting disorders and they only test for the most common ones.

Ps vsheff-im so sorry to hear your story-have they carried out any testing on the babies-18&20 weeks is just plain cruel and such heartache-the dr's need to step up and help you have your baby xx

Amy-let me know if you hear anything on the ba or what your dr says! We sound like were at a similar stage in ttc after one loss-can I ask if you saw the baby on a scan or was it a blighted ovum? How long have you been ttc since? This is my first month after 1 cycle and I cried so much yesterday as I just know af will come. I have literally been trying to remember how I felt in the week before my bfp, I remember having intermittent cramping for the whole week, this month ive had cramping at 7dpo for one day only-and that's happened before where it's only lasted a day then af arrives a week later. I know it may sound crazy but I also tried to bd exactly the sane as the bfp cycle ie the same days, times, positions!! But the logical part of me knows it'll just happen when it happens! Where are you in your cycle atm? I'm 10dpo 1st month ttc#1 since d&e end of June xxx

I will do! Definitely gonna see my doc though he's really helpful & they get everything done quick so I haven't got much to lose. I saw my baby on a scan when I was 8 weeks (it was an emergency scan as I started spotting brown blood) & found out my baby was only measuring 5 weeks, I then started bleeding that night. We started TTC straight after, it was more NTNP for a few months, my MC was 5 months ago. Haha, TTC definitely makes everybody crazy we all start trying mad things, don't get yourself down though hun it is a horrible process & it is annoying when people everywhere are just having babies left right & center but we'll get our rainbows soon!
I'm 10dpo, but I OV'd CD10 this month I think. Only just started taking note of when I O & what CD I am this month so I'm a bit new to this! How long have you been TTC for? x

I'd been ttc for 5 months before my bfp-I don't bother with opk's as im regular and I just follow my body's signs ie ewcm and ov pains which I get every month around cd 14, so I start about cd 9/10! Well were both 10 dpo! My cycles are between 14&16 days after ov...so 28-30 day cycles...have you ttc this month? Any symptom spotting? My main symptom with my bfp were intermittent daily mild cramping for about 7 days til my bfp..I don't really look for anything else as I'll read into it&get disappointed like I did for the previous months, like 'ohhh, my boobs are DEF more sore this month!!'. I've had some mild cramping but not as much as the bfp month so not holding out much hope. What about you, have you been ttc for long? Xx

I was ttc 9 months with my OH befoe my BFP & like you, my main symptom was lots of period pains a week before AF was due so I was soo convinced I was gonna come on! Tbh I was losing hope, I thought I couldn't get pregnant (because I tried with my previous partner too & nothing happened) but it had been 8 days since AF was due & OH and my MIL made me do a test. Yeah we are desperately TTC, we'd love to be parents! Well I noticed last night my nipples are VERY sensitive (tmi) so god knows what's going on lol. My OH always gets over excited just before AF is due he stocks up on HPTs lol, I never get my hopes up, I'm too scared!!
Got my fx'd crossed for you this month though!! Maybe we'll end up being bump buddies together!

I have been on baby aspirin once daily for all of my pregnancies. I am currently on it as well! The doc did have me stop after my first trimester though with my live birth son. After my first loss, the doc actually put me on Heparin (blood thinner) injections through the first trimester of my next pregnancy "Just in case" as I have never been tested for that blood clotting disorder either.

They have not worked the babies up. Well, except for the normal seq testing they do at 12 and 20 weeks. They did send the twins placenta for path and everything was normal. They are fairly certain I have an incompetant cervix now. However, I was unlucky enough to be sent to a specialist with the twins that did not want to put the cerclage in until they were "sure that's what it was". They know now, but unfortunately we had to loose the twins for her to figure that out. Her approach is definately in question.

Yep - they had me stop everything but my prenatal. I was also taking Metformin and Omega 3 Fish Oil. I don't know why but I figure Doctor knows best. They are all different, with different opinions...sounds like we both had successful PG's though!

I looked BA up on the net & it said that you should stop taking them in your 3rd tri because it's harmful to the baby.
