Hey everyone....

I was just sitting thinking today....we are ttc our first....I've always knew I want to have 3 or 4 children....and I was thinking today that I'd like to stay off birth control until I've had all the babies I want.....

What do you think you all will do??

It made me think of the program "19 and counting" and how the mum was on birth control and her first pregnancy ended in miscarriage, they then decided to not use birth control ever again and went on to have 19 children....( I'm not saying there is any link between BC and mc)... And I don't think I would be as hardcore as that family and have 19 kids...but I think I'm goons just wait and see what happens....

Would love to hear your thoughts on this??

Xoxo

I think I am going to skip the BC since it kept me heavier and I hated it. If we end up getting pregnant right off the bat then I will be happy. DH only wants two kids (hoping maybe I can push him for a third) but once we are happy he is getting snipped. He thinks after we have had so much trouble conceiving #1 without help, it won't matter if I go on BC afterwards.

Ditto! We actually just had a conversation about this a few nights ago. We decided I'll never have to go on BC again because we don't want to waste and time (I'm 29 and we're also hoping for 3 kiddos). When we're done he'll get the little snip-snip job done, be praised as hubby of the year, and we'll go about our merry way :winkwink:

I want to skip birth control after this, at least the chemical form, because I think it makes me a bit crazy and less in control of my emotions (not that pregnancy hormones won't, if God allows me to get pregnant!). I just didn't like it much.

At the same time the 19 and Counting people have some fairly abnormal views of conception and fertility, believing that any form of birth control, even Natural Family Planning, is not something God wants. It's not something most Christians, at least, believe in. Their welcome to their stance, but it's not one I think many people would agree with!

I definitely won't be going on any birth control again. I loved my Mirena IUD but my OH and I want a big family so we're hoping for 4-6 kids. When we're done having kids, he'll get a vasectomy which he's not too keen about but it's a hell of a lot safer than getting my tubes tied!

We are pretty much in the same boat as many of you! We want 2 children for sure... but a possible 3! I haven't used the pill for about 2 years now... my body hates it! When I;m on it I have little to NO sex drive! Blarg!!! Any woo so right after #1 we are going for #2 and then eventually SNIP SNIP!

I used to be on Nuva Ring and I loved it, but once I got off of it I realized how different I felt with synthetic hormones in my system. NEVER going back on hormonal BC again.

Also, we have been TTC for a long time (unexplained infertility), so I am probably never even going to deal with condoms either. I'll probably chart, and if I end up with 19 kids (highly impossible with my malfunctioning body), so be it!

Since my body doesn't seem to want to function properly anyway, if I ever do have #1, I won't go on birth control at all afterwards. We want around 5 kids, and I really don't want more than 2 years difference between each successive child, so probably whenever I get my first post-partum AF I will want to start trying... if DH doesn't want to start trying then, he can use condoms. I don't see why I need to pump my body full of hormones if he's the one who doesn't want me to get pregnant... but hey, he might be ready to ttc#2 as soon as I am! Who knows until we get there!

It's only now that I'm off BC that I realize how much it effected me in a very negative way. We'll be using good old fashioned condoms when we are actively *not* trying in between, and once we're all finished in the kid department DH willingly will be getting snipped. *thumbs up*
