Hi, for those that take a Vitamin B Complex for a Short Luteal Phase, do you also take a pre-natal vitamin with it as well? I found a "Super B Complex" vitamin because I heard it could help with a short LP, but I saw that the folic acid is already at 100% so I am not sure if taking a pre-natal vitamin on top of that would be overkill... thoughts?

I take a B50 complex in addition to my pre-natal.
B vitamins are water soluble so any extra just comes out in your urine (you will notice bright yellow-orange pee) :p
Just try to take them at different times during the day to get the best absorption.

Thanks! Did you notice that it makes a difference in lengthening your luteal phase?

This is my first cycle using a b complex. So far, it has worked to lengthen my luteal phase a little.

I am on my third postpartum cycle (DS born in 2012, breastfed for 14 months and no period the entire time)... the first two cycles were 27 days, and now I am currently CD 29. Of course, the first few cycles postpartum can be very wonky so who really knows what will happen with them if I don't get pregnant quickly.

But honestly, I NEVER have a cycle that lasts more than 28 days. Before DS was born, my cycles were usually 23 days max (very short!), and I've always had a short luteal phase.

I've been taking a liquid B complex. It states on the bottle to take it up to four times daily, so I take that much, spread throughout the day. Good luck!

I took a vitamin B6 complex (100) last cycle and it delayed my ovulation by 5 days! It did nothing for my luteal phase (9 days)....

Thanks, were you able to conceive your DS naturally with a 23 day cycle? That is my problem, I have short cycles and a short LP. My DS was born in 2012 as well, and I had to use a fertility specialist to conceive him, I rather not go back to the FS (will be difficult arranging someone to watch DS while going to appointments). I was forced to go back on BCP for ovarian cysts for 3 months and just finished my last pack, but in case I go back to having short cycles with a short LP, was curious on if I should try the B complex.
