Not sure what ANY of this means girls except been told the 70% motility is good.

Cant make out some of the print

If anyones looking in on this thread and knows what this all means, id be grateful!

This is a sperm sample 9 weeks after a Vasectomy Reversal

Maybe I don't know how, lol, but I don't see a link or pic of the results? Did the doc not go over the results with you? I would hope they would... but if you want some initial answers now, maybe google what is "normal" and see how it compares?

My hubby goes in for his 2nd check later this week after his 2nd VR... the doc initially checked (8 weeks after) to make sure all looked OK (and it did), but he didn't have it analyzed for a count or motility etc... so that is what they are going to check on Friday. Hoping we don't have to wait too long for the results!!!

I would comment on the count too but i dont know how much is a lot lol! hes got 3million count so youve got 2,1million which are mobile!!!! that seems a lot to me lol x

My friend knew the motility was important but we cant make out the amount of sperm etc ... I know we'll find out next week at the Hospital but kinda wanted to know now lol

I wonder if it'll improve over time

Wonder what the bracketed numbers mean?? arrgghh

2.1 Mil sperm doesnt sound like a lot to me! I thought the average male had bout 50 mil!! now im wee bit concerned lol will hopefully improve over time xx

Unfortunately we do he ahd a bad bike accident a few years back which he slid into his balls and they got severly bruised - so we think that must be it! well we are doing all we can - obvious things cut the drinking down and smoking etc and also he is now taking zinc and selenium and multi vits so we will see what happens! i am in ovulation stage atm - i think the big O day is 2 moz so have been DTD as much as poss, but this is the same every month and nothing happens so kinda expect the norm now xx

DOnt take my word on it - the 3ml might mean the volume as in liquid amount not necessarily millions of sperm?! I was just guessing - ive been hunting the web but isnt a lot out there haha!

yea we are very happy thank you he is an amazing guy - just need a baby to complete us lol we dont let it get in our way though - i bet he loves it - lots of loool

awww how lovely! I hope to have 2 / 3 in my lifetime! im only 23 (24 v soon) so lots of time but also we are ready now so would rather sooner than later! plus been trying for over a year so its v frustrating - although pretty new to all this Banby n bump and charting etc! this site is fab for that learn so much!! x

Hey!! for getting your results!! It's a shame you couldn't just get them, that you had to ask, but you've got them now and thats great!!

70% motility sounds fab!! I dont know anything about the other numbers I'm afraid.

I see these results are after only 9weeks? So thats really good, coz I did hear/read that it increases as time goes on, so if he had another SA in afew months time, the numbers would be higher. We dont have ours until mid Dec, which will be 12wks since the VR. (god, it seems so long ago now) lol

you'll have to let us know when you find out what everything means

Yep next Wednesday at 6.15 pm gotta see him, been summoned secretary wrote on the slip underneath Mr x would like to see you as soon as you can get here to discuss results... so here's me is that bad??!!!! is he gonna tell us we're a lost cause

So...I rang the secretary and she said noooooo its normal... Dr likes to see you in person to go through the results as normal folk dont know what the results mean so that made me feel better ...phew!

Yes i'll report back when we're back from the ozzy!

And what they say is "normal"

Motility (%) 50
Forward Progression (0-4) 3
Normal Morphology (%) (WHO) 30
Normal Morphology (%) (Strict) 14
Total Sperm Count (million) 40
Total Motile Sperm (million) 20
Total Functional Sperm (million) 6 is this the one where yours says 9? if so again

Thanks for the results thingy.... I see the motility is good then .. i think it all comes down to how far from the original vasectomy ?? spose the quicker you get it reversed the better x

Hopefully the doc gives you some good answers... I do know that the count should go up over time... so that's good, but also why it can take a bit longer to conceive after a VR. If he's not currently taking any supplements, might be a good idea for him to start

I got my hubby started on Fertilaid right away... guess we'll see how it worked after his SA this week. We know the surgery worked- now we are hopeful for LOTS of good swimmers! lol.

And... this might help... the doc told us we had just as good a chance as anyone. Even though my hubby has his vasectomy 10 yrs ago! The doc just said that in his experience (over 30 yrs)... he saw all different age ranges and lengths of time after a vasectomy and still, overall, we had as good a chance as anyone else that's been through a VR. So that's good
